A person can travel from one end of Merrscene to the other and see a myriad of different cultures, economies, landscapes, and people. To outsiders, Merrscene is a hodge-podge of different peoples and cultures. History

Merrscene was once composed of several city-states that held influence over various areas in the region. Before the Yomirsh occupation, these city states vied for influence in the regions, often making war with one another over territory or political differences. One by one, these city-states were conquered by Yomriah during the Early Wars. This region was the last to gain it's independence from Yomriah, and this Yomrish influences can still be seen in their culture and architecture. During the Yomrish Occupation, 17 city states banned together to simultaneously throw off the shackles of Yomrish rule. After their independence was gained, these 17 city states formed a coalition of nations to defend their newly gained territory against Yomriah and other nations that were forming to the south. The Capital of this coalition was selected to be a central location, Islelamore, and was eventually reorganized into an official confederacy. The List of city states are as follows   Islelamore - Capital and home to the prestigious Merrscene Univerity Nabratta - Home to one of the largest host of armed forces in Merrscene Berlial - Vast tracks of farmland in southern Merrscene Hithos - Smaller, but wealthy city-state with several prominant shipping ports. Tatrea - Mountainous city-state, high in mineral wealth Milokampos - Furtherst west City-State, coastal Loaderti - Famous for scenic vistas and farmlands Lindus - Small, but well positioned Therus - Several Farms and Vineyards Delerna - City state supporting many trades training institutes Kasmalos - Philosophical and contemplated peoples Olara - Farms, Vineyards and ranches throughout Europida - Large city once militaristic, not industrial Appiddi - Distinctive mountainous regions, sparsely populated Sarelis - Home to colleges of note Thespeni - Large coastal city, borders with Titania Cralnadi - Aslo borders Titania, heavily trafficed trade city.

On average, the people of merrscne are shorter than southern humans. In addition to humans, merrscene host a variety of ancestries. The trade heavy nature of their economy leads many from all walks of life to end up calling Merrscene their homes.

Territories

Merrscene occupies the territory of nothern-central Anatole from the rim of the Northern Mountain Range to the Yomrish Sea. Their eastern border is shared with the lost wilds, while Yomraih borders their northeastern region.

Military

Merscene has little in the way of military force. While each city state has their own armed forces in a variety of organizations, the centralized confederacy has no organized or standing military. Many times has this issue been brought before the senate, but nothing has been agreed upon as to a centralized military force.

Religion

Each City State in Merrscene has their own laws regarding religious worship. Religious freedom is not guaranteed by the confederacy. Some city states outlaw the worship of particular deities (mostly Covalla, the Sinner, Entaria, or Romulus) and enforce this measure to varying degrees. Polis is among the most popular of gods among the Merrscenran peoples, though this is mainly in the more trained, academic, or professional arenas.

Foreign Relations

Merrscene is seen as fairly weak from the eyes of other nations. Due to their weak military and precarious economy, they have not been able to stabilize themselves o the international stage. Despite this, merrscene sits between 3 major world powers. should either one seek to annex any of Merrscene into themselves, the other two nations would react with force. Merrscene once had a defensive agreement with Yomraih, but this was broken in the political scandals surround the events of the Black Skies Tragedy. Before this, Astrellas attemped to annex Nabratta, but relinquished their hold due to Titanian aggression over the annexation. This lead to the 3 Nations Accord.
