Anatole

Anatole, home to many a nation and people. This continent host a myriad of environments and climates that house diverse groups of creatures. Humans hold the ancestral majority here, though they are but the newest of peoples to tame this land. It holds home for some of the most technologically advanced nations in the world who now seek to plant their flag on new lands across the seas.

Geography

The Northern most region of Anatole is a dry and often barren desert, home to the Yomrish peoples. The endless shifting sands of northern Anatole is near inhospitable to humans, but the sylph have found a way to thrive here. South of this desert region is a sea that stretches from the Anatole's western coast inland and leaves a small area of mountains and scrub-land to attach northern Anatole to the rest of the continent. South of this sea is a large, hilly expanse that makes up central Anatole, divided only by a great inland sea called the Sea of Foes. Most of the eastern coast of Anatole is taken over by the Lost Wilds, an enormous and wildly dense forests that is home to the Elves and Terrans. Anatole's southern regions are wet, cold, and mountainous. A large gulf juts inland on Anatole's southeastern coast and receives water from the swampy region east of the southern mountain range. The southwestern regions is rocky with a multiple of coniferous corpse rather than expansive forests or plains.

Fauna & Flora

A Multitude of species calls this continent home. In the north, huge sandworms prowl the Sandsea, ever hungry for the unwary traveler. The plains of central Anatole are home to wild game such as deer, boar, and rabbit as well as the more dangerous beast that lie in the shadows of the Lost Wilds. Southern Anatole is home to great elk, bears, and bison that roam the hills of the southwestern region. Rams, goats, and other mountainous mammals can be found in abundance in Anatole's various mountain regions, allowing humans to thrive off of domesticating these animals.   Large, thick maples, hickory, willows, and oaks grow in abundance in Anatole's central region, while the south is conquered by pines, firs, and other evergreens. Dense forests of cypress trees have taken over the swampy southeastern regions helping to shade a host of maples, mosses, bromeliads, and ferns.

Natural Resources

Anatole is a continent with rich natural resources ranging from the Sandsea Silk made in secret by the Sylph, to the rich minerals of the southern mountains. central and northern central Anatole hold vast flat plains where farmers grow their crops in abundance upon their plantations. Wild game is never far from the diligent hunter, but domesticated animals such as cows, chickens, and pigs are relied upon for larger settlements. The waters of Anatole are filled with salmon, bass, and other easily caught fish.   The Most important of resources is mined in only a few areas throughout the continent. That resource being magicite. This precious stone, while rare, has appeared in only a few areas in Crystalis. While not abundant, magicite has made enormous economical impacts in the regions for which it is mined.
