Fer'hergen

The Fer'hergen are a proud dwarven race that inhabits the dwarven mountain of Ferg, built in the first age of dwarves. They enjoy traditional dwarven lives of labor and monster hunting, but also exhibit a unique qualities of hot temperedness and constant arguing. They are respected as strong dwarves with a powerful military, kept ready for any moment's need, but most brother kin mountains would rather not invite them over for Drink-Feast if it could be avoided. The Fer'hergen are also known for their desire to fight- be it monster or man, physical or verbal- Fer'hergen are just genuinely aggressive and disagreeable to say the very least.   The Fer'hergen concern themselves greatly with the human race- their growing numbers, their plans, their movements, and the threat they impose. The Fer'hergen king loudly votes every year for a war against the humans at every King's gathering, ranting about conspiracies and conjectures that imply the humans will destroy not only the dwarves, but also all of Cruul. As always, every year the combined Kingdoms of dwarves fill the hall with roaring laughter and vote against war. Ferg Mountain could never handle the entire human race alone- they always retract their vote before leaving the Hall- only to head home and shake there fists in rage.   The Fer'hergen are more than just paranoid. They are fantastic warriors dedicated to traditional dawrven labor and hunting the largest monsters they can find. They have the second strongest army of the dwarves, three quarters the size of OondrrG'rog Dwarves. and nearly double the Hz'Torgen Dwarves.. Fer'hergen fight with anger and mistrust as emotional fuel to fearlessly propel them into battle.

History

Fer;hergen have been part of Cruul since the Great Age of Dwarves. In the first dwarven age, they served The OondrG'rog Empire as their head armies and military advisors. They were the first people to train and define themselves as warriors. Their legacy is that of bravery and combat in the name of goodness. They respect hard work but their passion is more geared towards weapons and battle. They normally produce lawful good families and raise warrior children. More than anything- they pride themselves on a need to defend the dwarven race with ways of war and combat.     First Dwarven Age (10,000 yrs) The first 100 dwarves emerged from the ground fully mature and able to speak the dwarves tongue. They were created by Gr'Rog "God of the Underground" in effort to cleanse the underground of magical beasts that were a perversion in the eyes of the good gods. The Fer'hergen spent the first 10,000 years as the first personal army of The Fallen OondrG'rog Empire. and they served to hunt and destroy magical beasts while protecting the dwarven empire from all threats foreign and domestic. By the end of the first age, the Fer'hergen were the first to enter the The Druugrr War order of Unkus OondrrG'rog "Emperor". Leading the charge- The Fer'hergen committed the first dawrf-vs-dwarf kill, and indeed were the first taker of mortal life. The war was won directly by the Fer'hergen army after Oondrr'Grog empire fell, causing all Fer'hergen certain pride they boast about till this day.   The Elven Feyan Age (30,000 yrs) Before the elf-vs-dwarf wars (The Dwelven Wars), the Fer'hergen spent years demanding a preemptive strike on the elves, while the Oondrr'Grog emperor refused. When the wars began, the Fer'hergen were the first to march into battle. Battle after battle the Fer'hergen were the defining decider on the way to victory. They killed the most elves and captured the most land during these wars, and still brag about it today.   The Age of Harvest (1000 yrs). During the age of harvest the Fer'hergen voted for a war against the new Farni-Folk over suspicion and paranoia. The Fer'hergen accused the Farni-Folk of secretly working for evil gods while the dwarven emporor decided to send the Hz'Torgen to investigate. The Hz'Torgen reported that the Farni-Folk were harmless and goodly, but the Fer'hergen laid all their honor on saying they were secret forces B'zuuzhal "God of Lies and betrayal" . The Fer'hergen went on record saying the dwarves would forever regret doubting Fer'hergen warnings.   The Age of EverWinter (1000 yrs). During the first snow fall of Cruul, all clerical spells ceased to work across the lands and all races felt abandoned by the gods. The snow fell for 1000 years as the Fer'hergen found themselves without food and clerical power. They entered into a great starvation that threatened to erase them from the face of Cruul forever. Eventually through the snow- the Halflings marched carrying supplies of food, medicine and alcohol to the dwarves and the Fer'hergen deeply begged them for forgiveness while being forced to recognize the Farni-Folk as their saviors. By the 700th year of winter, the first undead came pouring from underground to attack the goodly races of Cruul. Legions of animated skeletons waged war on the dwarves, elves and Farni-Folk in endless waves of coordinated attack. By the 900th year, the dwarves retreated into their fortresses against Fer'hergen wishes to stay and fight. taking the Farni-folk with them. Eventually the dwarves and elves decided to join forces and attack the source of the undead armies with the Fer'hergen being the first to enter war. This effort became known as The Undead War of Izznn'Rot, and it saw the decapitation of the King of Drow King Hixxlrr  and a heroic victory for the all good races of Cruul.   The First Age of Man (1000 yrs.) The first age of man saw the coming of the humans. Four fully matured humans were found by dwarf and elf in the presence of Laydi'wahni "The White Lady" . Of the four humans, the Dwarves found a liking for the one named Hamar and under recommendation of the Hz'Torgen- took him with them to OondrrG'rog. The Fer'hergen were furious with the decicsion to teach this new human the dwarven skills of stone and metal, and swore that it would lead to destruction of all dwarvenkind. Doubly so, they looked at the giants of this age as dangerously strong and accused Greygor "God of Valor/War" of mocking the dwarves by making the giants so tall.     The Age of Human vs J'oognn (1000 yrs) In the 2nd age of man, the Fer'hergen watched the human race flourish at incredible speeds with the help of the giants. The Fer'hergen warlords demanded a preemptive strike was necessary for dwarven survival. The Emperor refused these demands causing hard feelings. Also during this age, a war between J'oognn Dwarves and humans began. The Fer'hergen rushed to the frontlines of battle ready to strike, but when learning that the J'oognn were at fault- they decided to back down from the war, stating that "Fer'hergen only fight for what is right". The j'oognn armies advanced on the lands of Vangash, easily destroying half the humans there. This lead to the giants arriving to help defend the humans, and act that ultimately won the war for human and giantkind alike. It is said that if the Fer'hergen entered that war, history would be very different today.     The Age of the Giant Wars. At the dawn of this age, the giants grouped their forces and efforts and declared war on all human kind out of jealousy and feelings of being underpaid. The giants launched a full-scale assault on all kingdoms of man that lasted 1000 years. Human settlements were reduced to rubble and blood as Fer'hergen observed closely. Nearing the end of the age, the damage done to the human kingdoms was devastating with almost all human structures smashed into the ground. Finally, the dwarven empire entered the war on behalf of the humans. The Fer'hergen armies were the main aggressive force of the dwarven attack, and it was the deciding factor of their victory. Fer'hergen fought side by side with human as the giants were defeated and removed from the human lands.    The current Age (998 yrs.) The first days of the current age, the Fer'hergen witnessed the destruction of Fallen Kingdom of Sahannd at the wrath of Osheena "Goddess of the Deep". The Fer'hergens, already no fans of Osheena "Goddess of the Deep" , greatly feared her choice to wash away the human kingdom in one mighty flood. But before they had time to discuss this catastrophe- an endless rushing wave of black blooded armies attacked each Dwarven mountain. For 10 years the Fer'hergen defended their mountain as the armies of M'Guglagoth "God of Monsters and Pain"  continued assault their front gates. The The B'lixnn Farg lasted for 10 years before calming to the state of today. Now the Fer'hergen accuse humankind as the cause of all bad things Cruul has suffered since the first age of man.
