Oddetall

Oddetall, oft referred to as the Impossible City, is a titanic conglomerate of architecture cobbled together in a towering pillar of nonsense whose construction frequently causes civil engineers to quit their profession. The town stands roughly three and a quarter miles high, kept vertical by the powerful energy exuded by a giant, salt-encrusted middle finger at its base, aimed at the ground. Access to the higher reaches of Oddetall is facilitated by the Curlway, a wide cobblestone street that spirals up the inside of the city. Alternatively, the many and varied structures that form Oddetall interconnect in a labyrinth of corridors and stairways, though it is very easy to get lost in these side-passages.

Demographics

As one of the largest cities in Crundle, Oddetall’s population is widely varied; more so than other towns close to the Reality Axis. While villages like Trimble have populi composed mostly of the “normal” races, such as humans, elves, and dwarves, Oddetall has residents from all across the plane, including a local clan of Duckadoons.

Government

The city is kept in order by its Rowfister, an individual named Jimothy Tolton, who also serves as the second line of defense against malevolent forces (the first, of course, being Oddetall’s absurdly impractical construction.) As the town’s Rowfister, Tolton has the legal ability to deputize and dragoon citizens into helping him, but in typical vain Rowfister fashion, he rarely does so as a point of pride.

Industry & Trade

Towards the top of the city is the earing port, situated right at cloud level. This is one of the only places in Crundle where skysloops can launch into the cloudsea to hunt magikaki, whose earwax is a valuable commodity. As such, earing is a prominent industry in the city that helps fund public works. Besides earing, Oddetall's vibrant community creates a cultural exchange rarely seen elsewhere, turning the coiled street and cramped backways a hotbed for merchants from across the plane.
