Magikaki Species in Crundle | World Anvil

Magikaki

Living on top of the highest cloudseas, magikaki are floating ears that shoot lightning out of their sole orifice. There is really nothing special about them apart from this, though if they are approached, they will spout lame puns and attempt to give hapless passerby their phone number. This should be refused at all costs, as if accepted they will continue to text subpar wordplay they absorb from sitcoms or slice of life anime.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Earers hunt magikaki for their earwax, called Magikakischmalz. Armed with giant cotton swabs, the earers depart on skysloops on expeditions into the cloudseas in search of magikaki to harvest wax from. Magikakischmalz is used for waxing beer mugs and bar tables. Some folk also eat the earwax smeared on bread. The earwax is expensive, though, so only the rich were able to eat such a delicacy until the year 360 Noscopum, when people figured out that they have their own earwax.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Quite obviously, the strongest magikaki sense is hearing, which is so acute that they are said to be able to detect the faint screaming of the Sundle.
