Circle Adversaries

During the time of magick and alchemy clans, cults and theosophical societies materialized in cities, towns, and small villages. Some of these concerns built temples, churches and meeting houses. These convocations are still scattered throughout the Fairelands and Crooked Mile. While adjustments were made at the turn of the century, so that these esoteric groups appeared less phenomenal, many continued their interest in reprisal and punitive cruelty. As these places are recognized by Candela Obscura and Crooked Mile Chapters, they add them to a roster kept in the Lighthouse Vault along with other information that is shared among chapter Lightkeepers.

  The Night Walkers: The Night Walkers are a group of vampires who prey on the living. They are a constant threat to the community.

  The Order of the Shadows: The shapeshifting order is focused on retribution for their ancient queen Cirsea, who lost a war to Queen Iomene. Their interest in using the dead to complete missions for their cause is a first and foremost goal. They use mind control to convert their applicants and alchemic surgery salted with a dangerous understanding of DNA mutations.

The Unabridged are immortal homo sapiens. Unlike the Shadows, this group uses a secret magickal process to convert the natural life cycle of their voluntary and compulsive members. The Pyre is the most duplicitous and secretive cult within the hypocritical Ascendancy. Two sectors: 1) the Flint who commit assassinations and 2) the Flame, who perform rituals led by the High Inquisitor. The Pyre are branded with a mark during an initiation sacred ritual.
