Eternity
Eternity is a planet located in the Galactic Core of the Milky Way and is the capital of the United Federation of Nations. It is generally agreed that Eternity was, during most of galactic history, the most politically important world in the galaxy. Over the centuries, Eternity has continued to add shell layers, with a total of 58,127 levels built up from the Sagittarius A* black hole. Located at the intersection of numerous major hyperlanes, including the Orion Trade Route, the Galactic Highway, the Mass Relay System, the Sol Trade Route, the Terminal Egress Line, and the Leisure Corridor, its hyperspace coordinates are (0,0,0) which effectively makes it the center of the galaxy. These coordinates also inspired the planet's military designation, "triple zero" or "Zero Zero Zero". Eternity's strategic location at the galactic core enabled it to grow in power and influence, causing the birch world to surpass its early rivals and become the hub of galactic culture, education, finance, fine arts, politics and technology.
Landscape
The entire surface of Eternity is covered by sprawling kilometers-high ecumenopolis, and boasts a population of over a hundred trillion to several quintillion, depending on the era. Following the end of the Omega War, an official census noted 1 quintillion official permanent residents. The statistics did not include transients, temporary workers, unregistered populace, nor residents of orbital facilities. Because of these omissions, the actual population of Eternity was estimated to be three times the official record.
Eternity is known to have the tallest buildings in the Galaxy. Prominent wonders include the Stage of Glory, Great Library, Grand Museum, Monument of Memories, Halls of Tranquility, Gardens of Beauty, and the Omega Alignment Complex. Eternity skyscrapers dwarf many famous buildings, landmarks, and natural landscapes from across the galaxy. Areas of Eternity are broken up into 5,127 levels which are then divided into megablocks, blocks, and subblocks. Eternity itself is divided into quadrants, which were divided into zones. Artificial lighting illuminates these levels and advertisement holograms can be seen everywhere. There are numerous establishments for entertainment, catering to a myriad of alien species.
Eternity is divided into quadrants, several thousand in number, with each quadrant further split into sectors. Sectors were further divided into zones, with zones determined by purpose, such as financial, senatorial, or industrial zones. Each sector is numbered on official maps, but sectors often have nicknames, such as Sula Town, also known as sector H-46, named for a prominent family that owns a large portion of its land, or The Works, the largest of Eternity's designated industrial zones. The Works is one of the galaxy's major manufacturing areas, where starship parts, droids, and building materials are heavily produced. Another area of Eternity is CoCo Town, an abbreviation of "collective commerce". CoCo Town is a dilapidated industrial area of Eternity. Home to mostly hard-working laborers, CoCo Town is as run down as other heavy industrial surface districts and contains relatively well-maintained streets, speeder lanes, and a shuttle bus route. Many diverse species live there and work in manufacturing and commerce. A partially enclosed open-air plaza near the Senate building, the Column Commons, is so-called because it houses most of the HoloNet and news media corporations. The Federal District serves as the de facto government capital for Eternity. It includes locations such as the Grand Federal Assembly Hall, the Grand Federal Executive Tower, the Grand Hall of Justice, 500 Federale, and the Galactic Museum.
The planet's skylanes direct the air-traffic of airspeeders via auto-navigation system that mov the speeders along preprogrammed routes. As such crashes are extremely rare. Precautions are taken though and skytunnels incorporating bombproof shields and high-level tracking systems, and most structures on Eternity had defensive shields to protect windows from stray and out-of-control vehicles. Owing to the planet's prominence in terms of galactic affairs, Eternity housed numerous governmental offices and inter-galactic headquarters in its winding depths. The central planning strategy offices of the megacorporation Templin-Keppe could be found within the planet, along with the droid research institutes funded by Cybot Galactica, and the Galactic Market, one of the galaxies largest financial institutions
Demography & Population
Eternity is home to a variety of species, though Humans make up the majority. Though not all well known citizens were always born on Eternity, many consider the planet their home. The denizens of Eternity are as varied as the galaxy itself. Over a quintillion beings reside on the planet. As the capital of the United Federation of Nations, members of senators and delegates of every represented Sector have a residence on Eternity. From there they would spend their days either working in the Senate or hosting events such as parties and political meetings. Additionally, the planet serves as the home of large communities of various species, some who rarely return to their original homeworld. On the streets of Eternity in the shadows of skyscrapers teem the planet's blue collar working population. Many live in the various housing blocks of the surface structures in relative comfort though not nearly as extravagant as the planet's wealthy and powerful. Many work on the upper and lower surface levels or enjoy the entertainment and restaurants that are more catered to their financial abilities.Politics
In order to better suit the administrative needs of the United Federation of Nations, the federal government of the United Federation of Nations relocated to Eternity as the figurative and literal center of the galaxy. As the center of galactic government, Eternity thrived on politics and the business of government. The Supreme Chancellor of the Federation did exercise some control over Eternity's administration though they do not interfere with the day-to-day affairs of government.Entertainment
Eternity has many attractions to offer its visitors and inhabitants. Chief among them is the Rio Entertainment District. Eternity's entertainment districts catered to everyone from the wealthy and powerful to the proletariat. The upper sections of the Rio District reached to upper levels of the planet where the Galaxies Opera House was located. It was here that Chancellor Ahmad Ibrahim often would come to enjoy various performances. In it could be found the Galaxies Opera House, a favorite location of then-Chancellor Ahmad Ibrahim. Eternity is also home to the Eternity Opera, Monument Plaza, and the Galactic Museum, all of which were popular tourist sites providing timeless entertainment and enjoyment. Further down in the lower levels of the Rio Entertainment District is a variety of establishments, most notably the Outlander Club. The club is situated in a less developed area of the district and did not garner as much attention from the police, a fact that worked in the club's favor. Its labyrinth of bars, gambling rooms and sleeping quarters allows for a wide variety of visitors and entertainment. In the center is a large bar, usually crowded, that catered to all parts of Eternity's society. Chin-Bret is one of the most popular sports in Eternity. The sport is played by chin-bretiers who carry pikers to play the game. The sport is most famously played at the T'Chuk Arena. On the multitude of levels of Eternity, skyscrapers serve as homes and businesses for the wealthy, powerful, and politically connected. They are ferried by private speeder or an air taxi from one tower to the next or to the various theaters, clubs, operas, and other entertainment areas of Eternity. Some journey to the surface street levels or Eternity's surface parks to conduct clandestine meetings or to mingle in the crowds of people that stream through the walkways of the residential and commercial areas. Among the rich and powerful of the planet were the Supreme Chancellor of the Federation and members of the Federal Assembly. The influential and wealthy of Eternity thrive in lavish lifestyles, attending meetings and social gatherings in high-rise apartments, dining in fine restaurants overlooking the city, partying in the entertainment districts, and viewing large scale shows in theaters and operas.
