Depression

I don't know why but I feel like I am not good enough for anyone.

Symptoms

Depression comes in various forms.

Emotional

The affects of emotional depression are feelings of uselessness, loneliness, isolation, and a general feeling of malaise.

Physical

The physica symptoms of depression are lethargy, loss of appetite, and the lack of gumption to do simple things like bath or get dressed.

Treatment

The only treatments for this condition are certain teas, St. John's Wort and actually making yourself do things. Another way to combat depression is to be surrounded by people who love them and make sure they know it.

Prognosis

The condition of depression is not one to be taken lightly. The symptoms may not seem all that bad to those not suffering from it, they are devastating to those who are. Many who suffer are prone to suicide. The sufferers need the support of the community and loved ones more than even they will admit.

Prevention

The best way to avoid this condition is to avoid trauma. This is not always possible and not everyone who has suffered from trauma will become depressed.

Cultural Reception

Most people who suffer from depression are shunned by the community at large as they are considered lazy. Many tell them as much which only leads to deeper depression because it emphasizes the feelings of uselessness.
