Orsana Market

This is the city of Karmis’ most unusual market, it caters to those with an interest in magic. The market is divided into four halls, each with a specific purpose. The Hall of Artificers houses alchemists and wizards that that sell magic items and potions. Most of these items are not on hand and must be commissioned. These businesses will also buy items. The second hall is the Hall of practitioners. These individuals will provide magical services such as healing, divination, mending, protective spells and flesh shaping. The third hall is the Hall of needs, the merchants here sell herbs and ingredients needed for magical undertakings and many of them will be happy to buy rare substances. The fourth hall is the Hall of Beasts, this area sells live creatures with magical properties. The central area of the market, a large domed area where the four halls meet, is used by magicians of various calibers to show off their skills with magical acts, demonstrations and competitions. Flash and showmanship is very much the hallmark of this area. To is also a could place to recruit magical help for an expedition.   The complex is well protected by its own guard force.  This includes two shifts of armed guards with war dogs and a pair of wizards.  The halls is also said to have numerous wards and magical guardians.

Architecture

The building is centered around a domed central public space handsomely roofed with blue tiles. Four long, rectangular market halls project from the sides of the domed structure. The halls have vaulted ceilings reinforced by stone pillars running down either side of the main corridor.  A large pair of double doors are at both ends of each corridor.  In inner doors lead to the circular central hall while the outer doors exit the building.  Inside are individual shops facing onto a central hallway.  The whole complex is in the middle of a cobblestone courtyard surrounded by a ten foot stone wall topped with iron spikes.  The courtyard can be entered through a gate at either the southern or northern end of the complex.
