The Travelers

The Adventuring Party that saved Draconia and the Dwarven Empire

Structure

As an adventuring party, The Travelers have little in the way of organizational structure...they are group of 10 or so friends that holds themselves as equals to one another, and though they may not always exactly align to the same goals and may even be somewhat of rivals to each other at times, they are nonetheless a chaotic group that pursues loosely the same goals most of the time. They are all roughly equal to one another in the group, and none are truly the "leader" or hold supreme power.

Public Agenda

The Traveler's public agenda is an often contradictory thing that often serves their own chaotic whims, and is thus mostly impossible to predict...however, there is a general trend that can be seen when one examines their sum total history. While they often do whatever they wish, these whims often see them work to stop great acts of evil wherever they are found, to stop atrocities, and to save those who require it...though they may sometimes need incentives such as money or reward to do so. They have not hesitated to help random citizens in need before, and to outright assault and destroy those who prove themselves enemies or evil beings.   Though they often serve their own goals and to line their own pockets, they are considered a loosely good-natured adventuring party at heart.

Assets

As a powerful adventuring party, The Travelers have little in the way of permanent assets but do have plentiful magical items, armor, and weapons. Their material assets are vast, and they have numerous incredibly powerful magical items they wield and wear and use in battle and outside of it.   Recently, after conquering the ruined city of Io in The Empire of Draconia, they have become official Barons of the country of Draconia and now claim lordship over the town of Needlebar as well as several others.

History

The Travelers was formed when Merul Weiss, a Baron of The Empire of Draconia, put out a hiring notice for any and all mercenaries, adventurers, or any others who wish to earn coin investigating the ruins of High Humanity across the land. The Travelers were the group of 5 of so creatures that responded to his call and took his job to search the ruins for the long lost artifacts of High Humanity to prevent them from falling into the hands of those who would use them for evil or their own ends.   However, after their very first mission for him, The Travelers were left adrift when Merul Weiss was captured by cultists who sought to reclaim the very same artifacts The Travelers themselves were looking for to purge the world of Inhumans and Monsters to make way for an Age of Humanity once more.   After the loss of their patron, reports of The Travelers' whereabouts become sparse, but a loose history of their activity has been summarized below:
  • After the loss of their patron, The Travelers headed north into the The Inhuman Coalition. They arrive at the capital of the Coalition, Nirvana.
  •
  • The Travelers spent a large amount of time in Nirvana. Though what they did is unknown, it is rumored to have involved a secret High Human ruin.
  •
  • After leaving Nirvana, The Travelers went north and entered The Venau Necrocracy.
  •
  • During their time in Venau, The Travelers spend time in the country's capital, Mortheim, before suddenly heading northwest, into the Vaylkrond Mountains, for reasons unknown.
  •
  • The Travelers return from the Vaylkrond mountains sometime later, and return to Mortheim.
  •
  • The Travelers leave Mortheim to head north, out onto the World's End Ocean, to head to Stormblast Tower.
  •
  • They are next reported in The Wild Lands, and remain there for several days to potentially multiple weeks. Rumors indicate they were under the employ of Titus Goldaxe during this time, but have not been confirmed. During their time there, the Travelers saved the son of the chief of the Wyrdnaught Tribe and participated in the arena of the Bloodsong Tribe.
  •
  • After Titus Goldaxe is crowned Grand Chieftain of The Wild Lands, The Travelers head south and into The Dwarven Peaks and the former Dwarven Kingdom of Gordrix.
  •
  • The Travelers attempt to enter Stonecutter Keep, the Dwarven Capital, but discover it is currently under siege by Fire Giants and other attackers.
  •
  • The Travelers are seen in Ironmine Keep, entering the abandoned mining tunnels to try and find a way into Stonecutter Keep from below to assault the Fire Giants.
  •
  • Contact is lost with The Travelers after they enter the Mining Tunnels for several weeks.
  •
  • The next report puts them in Stonecutter Keep, opening the gates and leading the assault on the Dwarven capital to reclaim it from the Fire Giants.
  •
  • The Travelers prove instrumental in reconquering Stonecutter Keep, and are crowned heroes of The Dwarven People for their role in the city's salvation and their slaying of the Fire Giant King.
  •
  • The Travelers take some time to relax in the city before hiring some mercenaries and setting out of The Dwarven Peaks, to the mountains high above the underground Dwarven Cities.
  •
  • The Travelers head up into the mountains above The Dwarven Peaks, and are last reported climbing The Lonely Throne, tallest mountain in the world.
  •
  • The Travelers are next seen days later hundreds of miles away, in The Wild Lands, assisting Titus Goldaxe in purging the capital city of Goldaxe from a recently revealed infestation of an underworld mafia organization known as The Chandlers Guild, who were bombing the city in response to the recent assassination of their leader by one of the city's residents.
  •
  • They spend nearly a week in Goldaxe City, and finally manage to destroy The Chandler's Guild and lift the lockdown and martial law imposed on the city by Titus Goldaxe. They are rewarded for their efforts with a keep and titles, as well as money and items.
  •
  • The Travelers spent some time in Goldaxe City, but are suddenly reported in Scalemoor, in The Empire of Draconia, for barely a day before returning to Goldaxe.
  •
  • The Travelers are next reported days later outside the ruined city Io, which had recently begun sending robotic constructs into the surrounding countryside and had begun releasing a deadly virus that turned living things into machinery, and enter the ruined city and are not seen leaving the city. A short time after they enter, all followers of Ruthger, The Mad Warrior report a surge of power and regain all spent divine spells used that day, but it is unknown if this is related.
  •
  • The Travelers are once again reported in Goldaxe City, and are present when the city is assaulted by what is believed to be an invisible Dragon. They successfully fend off the Dragon's assault on the town, but one of their number vanishes with the beast as it teleports away.
  •
  • The Travelers return to the ruined city of Io, which has all but gone dormant since their last visit. They vanish into the ruin for the better part of a day.
  •
  • Once they emerge, The Travelers are crowned Heroes of Draconia once it is revealed that the magitech reactor of the ruined city had been set to go critical, which would have devastated a massive swath of the Draconian Countryside and contaminated the land and air for hundreds of miles around.
  •
  • The Travelers are taken to Sul-Dracon, capital of The Empire of Draconia, to meet Olivia Couvillion and are officially rewarded by the Saint herself with noble titles, money, items, and The Travelers decide to throw their support behind the Draconia Noble House of Brandemere, become vassals of the house as they gain a large swath of territory to manage, based in the city of Needlebar.
  •
  • The Travelers go to Needlebar to claim their rewards, and spend some time inspecting their land, meeting their new advisers and staff, and appraising and greeting their new soldiers, citizens, and vassals.
