Geography

The Drowned Isles are a series of tropical islands set within the swirling terror of the southern obliteration reef. Located within the titanic swirling eddies of the titanic, continent-sized maelstrom, the Drowned Isles are nonetheless protected from the worst of the Obliteration Reef's dangerous by unknown magics so that the sandy beaches, tropical palm trees, and rolling tropical islands are kept safe and its inhabitants protected from such terrifying danger.   The geography here is gorgeous and rich in natural beauty, with sprawling sand dunes and beaches, towering Palm Trees that loom above the tropical islands that make it up, and the sweltering jungles that dot the islands are rich in wildlife and tribal civilizations such as those of the Tortle, for whom The Drowned Isles are their native homeland. The water here is gorgeous, clear, and a deep blue color, though it is often dangerously unstable and churns endlessly with the power of the maelstrom. With ferns, natural grasslands and some swamplands, palm trees and jungles all dotting the beautiful landscape beneath the sweltering heat of the tropical sun, The Drowned Isles are a beautiful natural wonder of the world protected by both the Obliteration Reef and the numerous towering mountains and hills that dot the islands within it.   Finally, as the Drowned Reef's origins can be traced back to The Advent of The Unraveler where the entirety of the central continent of Ea sunk into the ocean and left nothing but a smattering of isles in the south and The Shattered Corridor linking East and West, many ruins from the ancient times can be found hidden away in the tropical jungles and sandy dunes on the many islands of the Isles, containing the last existing clues as to life before the cataclysm which sunk the center of the continent.

Fauna & Flora

The flora of The Drowned Isles are beautiful things, from towering Palm Trees to jungles rich with ferns, vines, and all manner of plant-life and foliage...some flora can even be found here growing both within the sandy dunes that make up the Isles' many beaches and sand dunes, as well as on and beneath the waters that surround the Isles, enduring the bruising power of Obliteration Reef and growing despite their harsh conditions. All species of palm trees, thick jungle trees and ferns, and such can be found here, and many come from afar to study the rich and exotic flora that call the Isles home.   The main creatures that can be found dwelling all across the Isles are the tribal Tortle, who call The Drowned Isles their homeland and are the only creatures capable of carving out a simple maritime, tribal civilization among the churning power of the Obliteration Reef that wracks the waters around the Isles. Aside from the tribal Tortle, a number of animals life in The Drowned Isles both in the air, land, and sea...from turtles, sharks, and other exotic tropical fish in the water, to exotic and colorful parrots, macaws, and other birds within the sky and even monkeys, apes, and dozens of other mammals and even monsters that dwell on the land of the dozens and dozens of islands that make up The Drowned Isles.

Natural Resources

The Drowned Isles are rich in a natural resources, and the waters around the islands that make up the Isles are rich in exotic fish and other plantlife. Thanks to incredibly fertile soil comprised of lava ash and soft, sandy stone almost anything can grow in the soil of The Drowned Isles, and because of the mild climate and fertile soil, the crop year never ends. Unfortunately, The Drowned Isles have almost no natural mineral deposits, and most of its natural resources revolve around the ocean, that which lives there such as the various species of fish, and the forestry industry that booms upon the islands that make up the Isles.   Ironically, the main resource many come to exploit is the Tortle. Their shells are highly valuable, and they are hunted by slavers and black marketeers alike to both enslave as exotic slaves and to harvest their valuable beaks and claws which the nobility of the East and West enjoys to use as decorative material.
