Asgard

Divine Planar Realm of Freyja, the Grand Trampler

Geography

Asgard is a plane rich in natural beauty, and appears as a massive floating island surrounded by several outlying satellite islands, all of which are decorated with gorgeous rolling fields of green grass, hills and fields of wheat and crops, and flowing streams and brooks of gorgeous, crystal-clear water that flows through the meadows and eventually off the sides of the islands, flowing down through the skies and reflecting the constant midday sun in the sky. The islands are decorated with towering monolithic cathedrals, battle-halls, arenas, and countless other structures that all stand as pristine monuments to the might and glory of Freyja, The Grand Trampler, The Giant Pantheon, and most importantly, of Giant and other Heroes of ages past. However, it isn't just towering statues and looming buildings that signal the glory of these great heroes...nay, these very heroes come here and live again, fighting and drinking and reveling in the immortal vigor of the plane.   The plane is gorgeous, with mountains sprouting from the islands linked by massive stone bridges...and most of all, with countless heroes of old living and celebrating here. Even the Gods of the The Giant Pantheon can be found here, celebrating and fighting with their followers.   Yet, far, far below the floating Islands that make up the main level of the Plane lies the frigid realm of Helheim, the afterlife of the Giant Pantheon where Hela, The Soulthirster sits upon her frozen obsidian throne and manages the souls of all the faithful and of the Dwarves, whom she constantly siphons and steals when they die so she might torment them eternally and use them to increase the power of the Giant Gods.   This plane has only recently come back into existence after the ascension of Freyja, The Grand Trampler into her new status as a Major Goddess...as a result, the edges of the plane are shattered and slowly reforming themselves. The plane borders Dol-Daruhm in the grand scheme of the Planescape, as it was from the Dwarven home plane that Asgard re-formed, siphoning some of the plane's land into itself as it broke off into its own Plane...relics of the old Giant Pantheon can be found all over Asgard as well.   Valhalla, the former holy ground of Thor, The Stormson has been restored and lies in the center of the plane at the highest point, now maintained by Freyja's faithful in Thor's absence as all worthy warriors of the Giant Faith are spirited away here after death to drink and fight and celebrate without end.   Breidablik, better known as the Temple of Divine Splendor, the former holy ground of Baldr, The Unbroken, the purest and most holy place in all the Planescape, lies unused but pristine on one of the outlying Satellite Islands within Asgard, waiting for the day to come when its beautiful, fierce master is reborn into Godhood to rule it once again...

Fauna & Flora

The flora here is rich in both life and color, and the plane has an abundance of grass, wheat, crops, as well as towering trees and verdant forests...fields of beautiful flowers are common here, and compliment the gorgeous blues and whites of the water that runs through the floating islands that dot the skies of the plane.   The animals are all things of power and fearsome reputation, beasts of legend one and all, each worthy and capable of giving a true fight to a dozen hardened warriors. No helpless animals exist here, and all were creatures of myth and legend in their life...beasts of folklore and rumor that legendary warriors sought out to slay and prove themselves men and women of worth. After their death, these beasts are spirited away to the verdant fields of Asgard, where they are rewarded for their power with an eternity of life fighting and eating to their hearts content.

Natural Resources

Asgard is rich in natural resources, and contains a plethora of valuable crops, fields of wheat, lumber from verdant forests and towering bushes and plants, as well as a myriad of natural mineral resources in the land's ground and within the mountains that rise up above the land. These resources are available to all who have the daring and power to claim them, assuming they can get past the creatures which guard these resources, ensuring only the worthy can reach and claim them...
