The Kaita Horde

The Horde of Kaita were once a group of disorganized nomads within the plateau of Kaita, north of Tamay. Now, they have been united under a mighty warlord named Argun Temu, becoming a great horde of warriors that pose as a threat to the civilized lands of Pung.

History

Up until 1A 3480, the people of the Kaitan plateau were very divided, often warring with each other for the sparse resources. Those in Tamay and Pung viewed them as a relic of the old days where men had no civilization. Besides, up until the year 2300, the Kaitians fought with the Tallian Empire south, so Pung kept these people as a buffer to their terrifyingly strong neighbors. Eventually, the Tallian Empire collapsed after years of Kaitian fighting, leading to Pung to pick up the pieces.   There was one moment where Pung had a scare: in 2400, a warlord name Ozbeg, haughty with his victory over more Tallian territory, managed to sneak into the capitol of the Jyn and temporarily overthrew the Dragon Emperor. Him and his rebellion were quickly deposed, however. Ever since this failure, the Pungians turned a blind eye to their nomadic neighbors.   This all changed in the year 3480, when a young nomadic leader named Argun Temu got into a fued with a rivalling tribe, called the Jeder. Temu beheaded the Jeder tribe, and declared himself warlord over the Jeder. He forced the Jeder into submission, killing the rebellious men and taking disobedient wives as prisoners and slaves. Great fear spread through the Kaitian Plateau as Argun Temu's horde of warriors either forced smaller tribes into submission or completely wiped them out. Then, in 3490, Argun Temu was declared the Great Khan of the Kaita.
Argun Temu, now the Great Khan of the Kaita, has now set his eyes out on the rich lands of the Pungian Empire.
After being declared Great Khan, he waited on the status of the Pungian Empire. He knew it was becoming unstable. His predictions came right in the year 3509 when the nations split apart. With this, Argun Khan swooped into the lands of Ogaman to begin the second part of his grand conquest. Little did Pung expect the nomads they ignored for so long to be a genuine threat to their livelihood...

Culture

The nomadic Kaita have for centuries been engrained with the lifestyle of warfare as a battle for sparse resources grew. Unlike the people of Pung, they have no concept of "honorable combat". Rather, victory is the only goal and as such must be achieved. To kill and die is truly glorious to them. So much so that they have grown fond of Morganine and Loxelel with their religion.   Another point of pride for them is the art of horse-riding, a necessity in the plateau. In their art and armor one will find symbols of horses littered around the place. There is often a spiritual connection to them: the Kaitian warrior believes that when his soul and the spirit of the horse connect, they use that combined power to become a greater conqueror. Because of this, killing a horse is considered a terrible act and worthy of vengeance.
