Slytoff Han

"The Amazing" Dragonlord Slytoff Han

"The Amazing" Slytoff Han was a rock gnome travelling magician and Dragonlord of Feller's Rock. He was primarily active around the year 1A 5689, where he and a group of four other adventurers called the Dragonblazers defeated the Knights of Black Dragon.

History

Early Life

Slytoff Han (if that is even his real name) was born on February 2nd of 1A 5557 in the city of Miweck. His parentage is unknown; however, what is known is that for a few years he survived through Lysandus' deadliest plague. Afterwords, Slytoff would have experienced seeing a major drop in population in Lysandus and many jobs opening. Working in Miweck he would have also experienced the terrifying Dragon Crisis that overtook the end of Queen Dariah's reign.

Eventually he would meet an middle aged human magician in the year 5609. The magician, naming himself Cristo Ball, impressed Slytoff with his tricks, and Slytoff became curious to know the magical secrets. Cristo Ball would take Slytoff under his wing, teaching him the basics of magic. Slytoff studied hard, eventually figuring out it wasn't mere stage tricks that he was being taught. It was legitimate magical ability. Slytoff questioned Cristo Ball about this. Cristo would answer he learned the skills from Cemedri Magicus but dropped out in 5587 when his family died of plague. Thus, he became a travelling magician.   Slytoff Han and Cristo Ball went on different tours in Keller, being an "amazing" magical duo that preformed live tricks for people. Unfortunately, though Slytoff aged rather slowly, Cristo Ball began to age rapidly before his partner's eyes. Cristo Ball, now a very elderly man in 5642, died in a stage accident. The show would be ruined, and Slytoff's reputation was crushed.   Running low on money, Slytoff tried to keep running any show he could. Audiences were not interested, especially since Cristo Ball was long gone. Slytoff's show would completely die in 5650, and he was left scraping for money. Desperately, he tried different tricks at bars and through different cities to get free room and board and preform for them. It was a scheme that would end up going south, where no inn keepers were buying it. Slytoff would be forced to either find funds for his show, or go back to menial labor. The second was not an option.

Will of the Dragonlords

The Hunt for Sir Edward

Desperate for money, Slytoff would turn to mercenary work sometime in the 5680's. The years before 5689 are unaccounted for. The year 5689 itself, however, gave him a promising advertisement while he was lodging in Anfeld: The Lazy Loafer Bakery in Silver Town was in need of some guards. Thus Slytoff took the advertisement and headed to the city. At the crossroad, he would meet three other mercenaries: Wulfric Cisboren, Riley Woodhame, and Gilliam W. Maydestone.   In Silver Town they stopped at the Silver Chalice Inn. Slytoff tried his "free board and room" trick with the inn keeper, who fell for it. Thus, he showed an excellent performance, but accidentally shocked Wulfric to the point of unconsciousness. Wulfric would be revived. The next day, they answered the advertisement, which was protecting a wedding cake. Along the way, they were bombarded by Black Knights. The adventurers would fend them off. Then, getting the cake to Castle Foswell, the Dragonlord there requested the adventurers protect his daughter. That night, Slytoff and the rest of the party managed to keep Lady Joyce Foswell alive and were paid handsomely.   Slytoff would be sent with the rest of the party to track down Sir Edward, the Black Knight behind the attacks. They would meet Tequila Cambow, and also encounter Seldwig Lightfoot in the forests of Caleah. They battled a small regiment of Black Knights in the ruins of Caleah and then tracked down Sir Edward to Urshlon Tower. At the tower, a fireball would be thrown at them by Lady Qenlynn Millerstone, trying to scare them off. However, they survived. With the help of Wulfric dealing a devastating blow to Sir Edward, Slytoff killed the rogue knight with a spell called "scorching ray".   They were forced to flee into the tower as the sorceress' fire spread on the outside of the citadel. In the tower, he would encounter a magic mirror once belonging to Qenlynn. He would ask the mirror several questions. Slytoff was dissatisfied when the mirror claimed he was not the greatest wizard in the land. Thus, he renamed the mirror "Burt" and decided to go and "fix the issue". He took the magic mirror through a teleportation circle in the tower.

Investigating the Black Dragons

He and the rest of the party would teleport to Grace's Wonders, a magic shop in Silver Town. He tried to sell it, but the shopkeeper gave ridiculous prices. Thus, he kept the mirror. That night, on May 12th, after collecting reward from Lord Foswell, he and the rest of the party schemed to rob the shop. Slytoff would use his power of detecting magic to watch for traps, and in the shop he would adopt one of the pseudo-dragons named Puffy. He stole a Cloak of Protection, but was nearly killed by a Mimic in the shop. He would proceed to burn the store down and escape with the party.   The next morning, Slytoff and the rest of the party were arrested. However, Slytoff and Riley gave a good argument on how their arrest failed to have strong evidence, and they were released. They would go shopping for a harness so Riley could carry Slytoff. Slytoff would get his cloak refitted as well, and got the attention of a thief. The thief would be arrested. Heading toward Feller's Rock afterwords, he managed to get info from a Blacksmith on the Black Dragon presence. This led the party to the Dragonpeak Mines.   Slytoff and his friends would kill many kobolds for a Gargoyle, who requested them gone. Slytoff had mercy on a kobold den mother, however. The party would free her from other kobolds, who labelled her traitor. Then, Slytoff would go further down the mine, finding blood-collecting equipment, and would face a "dragon" upon his throne. After some teasing, Slytoff angered the dragon and fled. However, throwing a firebolt at the dragon revealed it was an illusion. Slytoff and the party would face a dragolok named Kilroy Mancer, who would release a Half-Dragon on them.   Fortunately, the Half-Dragon, named Galafred, turned out to be a friend. Mancer would be killed by Galafred and told the party he was cursed. Slytoff would uncover some of the notes on Kilroy Mancer, realizing this was just one operation. The party would return to Feller's Rock, meeting a wizard named Warder Payne, and Slytoff pretended to know him. Eventually they got inside Castle Feller, to see that Lord Wickam was under a spell. Slytoff challenged the Whisper Bard named Percival, but Riley started to threaten Percival, and a fight ensued. Slytoff and Riley shot off spells but were horrendously wounded. Gilliam would save them by taking out Percival. After the fight, Slytoff insisted Lord Wickam that he become the replacement court adviser, and Wickam agreed. The wizard, Warder Payne, would also help the party cure Galafred once he trusted them.

Venture into the Underdark

The party followed Warder Payne to Miweck, where Slytoff visited his parents again with the rest of the party. He learned his mother got caught up in an MLM scheme. He gave his father support money to get them out. Then, the party went to Cemedri Magicus, where Slytoff mocked the Arch-Mage. Evidently, the party was hired to go into the Underdark to collect Duergar Soul Sand, and thus they went off. The party delved into Drow territory, fighting a Drider, Chitines, a Choldrith, and a Fomorian on their way through. Eventually, they assisted the Drow in shutting down a Duergar factory.

The Gift for Morgesk

After their venture in the Underdark, Slytoff and company were instructed to get to the Dragonscale Mountains to deliver a necklace to the dragon Morgesk. Thus Slytoff and company traveled down the Silver River, where they were encountered by Black Knights and a Danen ship trying to kill them. Eventually, Slytoff and the party arrived in a besieged Kirkwall and rescued the sorcerer Hamill from the Black Knights. And, with the ranger Hilda Snowladen with them, they traveled up the Dragonscale Mountains.   Slytoff and company came across a Bheur hag, who nearly killed him, but they survived her wretchedness. They then arrived to Duran-Golgen, the home of Morgesk, and delivered the gift. Morgesk instructed them to infiltrate Duran-Vanu to kill a two-headed dragon named Turot. The party obeyed, slaying the dragon and collecting the Mirror Shield. Then, they traveled back to Kirkwall and liberated it from the green dragon Gorgoth and the war cleric Charles Mane (whom Slytoff humorously shrunk).

The Final Stretch

Slytoff, in the background, assisting the Dragonblazers in a fight within the Temple of Amagus as Black Knights tried to corner them in Keller's Coast.
Slytoff and company then traveled north to Ebenwald to get their titles of Dragonlords. Slytoff met Prince Jacob, a young royal who was interested in studying the arcane. The wizard Slytoff was knighted, and then him and the rest of the newly-dubbed "Dragonblazers" were assigned to travel to Keller's Coast and find the sword Dragonslayer. However, in Keller's Coast, the Dragonblazers would find it was infiltrated from the inside. They escaped through the sewers, but ended up being confronted by a true black dragon named Ydrith the Destroyer. Slytoff ultimately slew the black dragon with his spells.   Then, once the party awakened King Beorhtric at Castle Drulikak, they were teleported by the Lady of the Lake to the Tower of Amagus, which the Knights of Black Dragon had taken over. Slytoff and company defeated Black Knights throughout the tower, until finally facing Qenlynn Millerstone, transformed into a red dragon, at the top. The Dragonblazers would defeat the sorceress and be proclaimed heroes of the land.

Post-Dragon Crisis

Slytoff did a few things the decade after the defeat of Qenlynn Millerstone. He first created a huge wizard tower, and then started to put on an international magic show through a new entertainment business: Slytoff Han's Explosive Entertainment. He also took Prince Adran under his wing as an apprentice. The last notable act was him assisting Gilliam Maydestone in finding the Treasure of Ages, which helped them extend their lives longer than it should have.
