Sluagh

The Sluagh were the hordes of restless dead mortals who would be found wandering the forests of Mountain's Shadow and other fey-infested lands. They were often previous thralls of Bghonah or simply evil men/elves who died in the fey.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Sluagh are beings that find themselves only as a literal shadow of something living. They will have the same height, weight, and body shape as the mortal they previous were. Their skin will look like a void, however, and they will be entirely weightless and featureless. The only consistent thing about each one is that when the wind blows, their bodies will shutter like leaves on a tree.   Strangely, one thing they cannot do is stop walking. They must constantly walk, or at least move, no matter what misery it brings them, for they are lingering souls.

Dietary Needs and Habits

As fey beings, the Sluagh hunger for desires that are impossible to achieve. Wealth, food, warmth, things that mortals usually enjoy a Sluagh needs in unfathomable quantities in order to get what they want. Thus, these spirits linger along always hungry and attacking whatever they can get to slightly quench this unbearable appetite.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Sluagh find it is more effective to travel in packs, so seeing a Sluagh alone is a very rare sight. Indeed, their hunger they all enjoy sharing, as "misery likes company". They will horde, with no clear leader, to just get what they want and consume all to satisfy. This pack structure also makes it immensely difficult for these beings to be dispersed and increases their strength.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Sluagh have the ability to sense living things within a range of 100 meters, and have exceptional night vision (besides looking like they lack eyes). Textures and ground vibrations are extra sensitive to them, allowing them to hear even the stealthiest movements.

Civilization and Culture

Common Dress Code

Slaugh all enjoy dressing in long robes in order to make themselves seem larger, as the addition of clothes adds density to their hordes. They will also carry weapons on themselves to defend themselves.

History

Historically, these fey would be created when the sinful, lingering spirit of a mortal died in the feywilds or under the influence of a fey. Their bodies would turn into a void, with their only motivation to seek pleasure and lusts yet never satisfying their hunger. They would prey among mortal beings for these things.   Bghonah, the Archfey, found himself turning his thralls into these so they could live out eternal servitude to him. Many warlocks of the fey have this undying and unquenchable fate awaiting them if they die for their master (which they most of the time do).
