Oswulf the Longsword
Oswulf 'the Longsword' was the first High King of Albion and Petty King of Anfeld. He was known as 'The Longsword' due to his legendary prowess.
History
Not much is known of Oswulf's early life. It is known that he was of a dynasty called Cydric, named after an ancient ancestor. What is known is that, in the year 4300, the Petty Kingdom of Ellis was attacked by the Dwarf King of the Golden City, who tried to take Siler Town. Oswulf thus came to the aid of his neighboring kingdom and fought the Dwarves. He pushed them past the Petty Kingdom of Kirk and forced them back to their holdings in northern Lisanricia. Thus, the people deemed him "The Longsword", for he fought only with his longsword and killed a score of dwarves. Evidently, after the defeat of the Dwarven King, the Petty Kings of Lisanricia assembled a council at Feller's Rock. Oswulf was part of this council. The council decided they needed a king over the region, which they began to call "Albion". The council elected Oswulf to be their king. Thus, he was crowned as the High King of Albion. The rest of his reign was peaceful. It was written that Oswulf was a wise and fair king during his reign. He wrote a charter to unify the levies of Albion together so that the men and knights of the land could pay fealty to him, though the petty kings did not have to themselves. This created a decentralized power in the kingdom, but Oswulf was still turned to for decision making. In the year 4320, he passed away within his palace at Anfeld. When he died, the councils of Albion chose Percen "the Wise" of Ellis as his replacement.
