Kurokage was a powerful Doppleganger War Mage who served under the warlord Ta-Khan in the year 4210.

History

Early Life

Kurokage, the one who inhabits the world now, was not the one born to his mother Rasha in the year 4170. That Kurokage is now lost. Instead, he was switched by a fey spirit who resembled him. Unknowingly, Rasha raised the doppleganger for a while, but soon noticed his evil nature as a child. The priests told her he was a doppleganger and a danger to the community, and so she tried to get rid of the child. Kurokage was abandoned in the woods at the age of 3, having to fend for himself.
He was found by a band of hobgoblins, who at first wanted to kill him. However, with his intelligent nature, he turned them into his servants quickly. He grew up with the hobgoblins stealing and raiding for him, while he grew in his knowledge of the dark arts, consorting with evil spirits to reveal their dark magics. He developed a spell book, memorized and practiced spells, and became a powerful wizard in his own right. He soon went on a vision quest for his ambition of the dark arts.
He found the ruins of the old lair of Si-Wang, the great Lich Queen of the Mountains who was vanquished 700 years before his time. There he poured over her forbidden writings, learning powerful necromancy. He also learned of the powerful Dragonstones, artifacts that could grant any wish he desired. He left the ruins and returned to the forests of Tsino. There he built his mage tower, where he would continue to harass the locals with his hobgoblins who raided for him.

Meeting Ta-Khan

When he was in his mid-20s, he found the young Ta with his group of bandits trying to steal within the countryside of Ogaman. He quickly uncovered that Ta was an abandoned half-dragon, and the last descendant of Jong-Long. Kurokage knew the boy was his ticket to political power, who he could possibly control. Kurokage disguised as the boy's lost mother, and began to raise him as his own. Ta quickly grew in both side and prowess, and by the time he was a teenager, he learned who Kurokage really was. The wizard tried to control Ta, but Ta's prowess was too much for the wizard, and soon submitted to him.
Ta spared Kurokage, respecting him for protecting him for all those years. He made the wizard his right hand man as he took over Kurokage's battalions of hobgoblins. The Hobgoblins recognized Ta as their new king, an honor they never gave to Kurokage, since Ta had divine draconic blood. Thus, Ta-Khan was born, and Kurokage submitted to the khan.
Yet despite now working under the new khan, Kurokage does not desire to let go of his power so easily, and has plotted behind the back of the half-dragon. He has also, however, served as the top general under the Khan, and is an invaluable asset to Ta-Khan, who suspects his mentor's treachery. It is an uneasy alliance between the two.
