Chapter 3 - The Minotaur of Edora

General Summary

The company of adventurers drifted to shore with Arokas and the remaining soldiers, coming onto an unusual and abandoned island. They made a smoke signal on the coast. Arokas and the soldiers remained behind, while Creetens, Rashida, and Theden went to explore the island and look for supplies.
  • Creetens contacted a dolphin and used it to lead him to the scattered remains of the ship. He collected the goods there.
  • Rashida and Theden went to look for food, and came across the ruins portraying a bull when they collected from wild olive trees.
  • Theden started to climb the side of a cliff to look out for other islands.
However, as Theden looked up off the cliffside, he noticed something in the treeline coming towards Arokas and the soldier Aelus as they watched the fire. Theden tried to send a signal to warn them, but they would be captured by a bull-like beast. The party thus joined together to follow the creature. Evidently, it escaped into a dungeon around the ruins. The ruins told a terrifying story, one of a chieftain who made a pact with Loxelel to become a bull-man and eventually went insane.
When dragons still ruled men, our island, Edora, was isolated and ruled by Chief Mino of the Bull. He was fat and wealthy.
But the ones loyal to the dragons attacked us. Chief Mino of the Bull could not defeat them.
As such, Chief Mino sacrificed his wealth to the Blood One. The Blood One smiled upon Mino, and gave him the strength of a bull to destroy the dragon tribes.
Chief Mino grew bloodthirsty. He grew wild against his tribe, until they trapped him inside his own labyrinthian palace. There it became his prison, and the tribe of Edora sailed away from the island to leave the Minotaur to his doom, alone.
It was against their best judgement, but the trio went into the dungeon to find Arokas. When inside, they found themselves into a dungeon that was maze-like in nature, with conflicting tunnels and little indication of direction. The party followed subtle signs across the floor and scratches for walls to find their way through the labyrinth. Eventually, they came across the minotaur and tricked him by throwing a piece of silver. Slipping by the Minotaur, the party entered the creature's lair and found Arokas and Aelus tied up, and Aelus was being cooked alive. The trio set a trap for the Minotaur before it entered the lair. Once the trap was enacted, the party hammered down on the creature and defeated it swiftly. Then they rescued Arokas and Aelus from their doom. They also collected some gold and a strange magical conch shell.
Jethro: Well, thus ends the Minotaur, I suppose! What a quick and easy defeat. Almost too easy!
Theodora: Ha! You assume that will be the only minotaur my dear brother. There will certainly be more.
Once they exited the labyrinth, they returned to the beach and kept up the smoke signal. They stayed two nights and a day on the island, and in the morning of the second day, they noticed a bronze creature flying in the distance. Arokas recognized it as a dragon and told the crew to stay on high alert. As the dragon approached, it landed gracefully on the beach. The bronze dragon noticed some boar was being cooked (caught expertly by Theden) and ate the entire thing, and then spoke to the party.   The bronze dragon introduced himself as Icarion, who disguised himself as a paladin in Oenens while investigating a slavery operation. He offered to help the party off the island and return them to Oenens. Arokas was still distrusting of the creature, but ultimately agreed. Thus the party was lifted up from the forbidden island of Egora and were flown back to Oenens safely...
