Chapter 2 - The Werewolf Road

As the party continued on their quest, they made headway towards Feller's Rock by going along the old road. Along the path, they came across some Orcs, which gave Aaron massive trauma from his memory. They tried to fight off the orcs in their path, but were defeated and drug away to a cave. When they awoke, they realized the Orcs were planning to use them as bait for a werewolf. The party successfully fooled the Orcs to leaving by telling them to "hunt the wolves for their own honor". With that, they slipped away and continued onto the road.   They came to a cozy inn called the Meander and Mingle in the midst of the night. But things were not as they seemed. Indeed, a woman, named Thelburg, was missing, and a dwarf guard named Thari Urikrson was worried for her. He mentioned to this the party. They ignored him for the most part, but found themselves disturbed in the middle of the night by a scream. They decided to check it out in the middle of the night. They headed outside, armed and ready to take on a monster. And indeed, they found a werewolf had attacked a half-orc woman. They confronted the werewolf, but after injuring it, it fled from the scene.   It did not take the party long to figure out who the werewolf was: the missing woman. After the confrontation they tended the half-orc woman, who introduced herself as Aethelflaed, and noted how she was a Knight of Dragonbane who was searching for a werewolf after the reports. She offered to help the party deal with the beast. When they asked her what to do, she recommended hunting the werewolves during the day.   So, the party packed up their gear and set out. (Though, Aaron was quite terrified of the entire ordeal, but went along anyways.) Eventually, on the road, they found the missing woman Thelburg and began to threaten her. However, she remarked how terrified she was in killing people as the wolf. She offered to show the party where the other werewolves were, to kill them. The party thus followed her lead and led them to a cave. Much to the surprise of the party, however, the remaining werewolves were in their hybrid forms... In broad daylight. The Werewolves offered the party their curse, but the party refused, so the werewolves decided the adventurers were now prey and promptly attacked.

The aftermath of the battle, with the party having killed the werewolves while the poor woman Thelberg looked on.
After a minute of fighting, the party was badly injured, but all of them survived the werewolf attacks without ever being cursed. Now all that remained was the problem with Thelberg: the next night would certainly be a full moon, and they could not risk her transforming again. So, Aethelflaed offered a solution: lightly poison her with a paralysis flower. The party agreed to the idea, and so Aethelflaed looked for the flower. During her time of leave, however, Aaron opened up to the party: this was not the kind of job he was expecting, and the trauma from all the encounters they faced proved too much for them. So, bitterly, he had to leave the party, but valued his time with Kade and Cecil, and bid farewell for his own health.   Now down to just the three of them, Aethelflaed suggested getting Thelberg to a wizard in Feller's Rock that she heard of: Slytoff Han, one of the Dragonblazers. It would be a few day's journey, but keeping Thelberg knocked out would be just the right solution for their troubles. So they administered the poison to Thelberg the afternoon before their journey, leaving her paralyzed so they could travel safely and find the wizard...
