Chapter 1 - The Voyage

During the middle of the night, the party of adventurers found themselves mysteriously on a prison ship, some unaware of how they got onto the ship or what their pasts were really like. Though they were forced to be silent most of the night by watchful guards, the guards eventually slacked off and went for a game of cards. Who were these band of misfits?   The party proceeded to try and make an attempt to escape their fate and tried to pry their doors open. This failed, yet caught the attention of a guard getting dressed. Alexandroth proceeded to taunt the guard, which had him open the door to teach them a lesson. The party used this action to escape, and regathered their weapons and armor. Yet the commotion drew more guards to their attention, and the guards tried to arrest them once more.   In the middle of the commotion, the ship came under attack to pirates. The captain cried for his soldiers to help him in the battle, yet they were busy with the party. Thus, the captain, named George Wallingtosh, helped to suppress the escape attempt. Unlike his soldiers, the Captain was a fierce fighter. Yet in the midst of battle, his hand was cut off. He eventually took down Alexandroth but was captured and questioned by the rest of the party. Captain Wallingtosh claimed to the party that he had them as prisoners to transfer to Port Royal, and that they were arrested for treason against the Church of the All-Divine.   After this, the party encountered Captain Dana Bonebreaker, a ferocious pirate who had raided the ship. She proceeded to get the truth out of Captain Wallingtosh, who revealed he was actually a privateer. Bonebreaker proceeded to shoot him out of disgust, and ordered her men to kill remaining soldiers. When confronting the party, she decided to have mercy on them and took them in as crew, seeing their capabilities. The crew was brought upon the ship Capricorn, where the chapter of this campaign ended.

Relations

Protagonists

Brynn Inkheart

A Tiefling assassin, Brynn found herself on the prison ship and felt she was deserving of her fate. She has vowed to not kill anyone, preferring now to use her skills to incapacitate her enemies. Her value for life is strong, much to the annoyance of people like Alexandroth, confused by her refusal to use her skills.

Elana

Elana was a human cleric, devoted to the domain of life so governed by the goddess Cardia. Showing true to her faith, Elana used her divine abilities to bring the wrath of Cardia upon her enemies. Yet she also displayed a sense of mercy in her actions and proved to be an efficient healer.

Alexandroth Habsburg

Coming from a line of pure half-elves, Alexandroth was under a pact with the accursed Raven Queen. He displayed his powers in battle with glowing purple eyes and using his pact weapon in ferocious carnage. As he swung his sword, feathers of a raven followed behind it. He appears to find his patron revolting, and personality-wise he seems to be in it only for himself.

Dovahkiin

Dovahkiin was a Bronze Dragonborn, devoted as a Paladin toward Bahamut. Through battle he served as a tanking powerhouse, while also being merciful and trying to only incapacitate his enemies. He has aspirations for greatness, and wishes to be noticed more by his god.

Bogun

Bogun was a halfling gunslinger, noted for his wonderful sideburns and his impressive hat. He was a curious fellow and had personality to share to everyone. Like Dovahkiin and Elana, he had no idea why he has ended up on this adventure.

Adversaries

Captain George Wallingtosh

A seasoned sailor, Wallingtosh was a privateer serving under New Wallingwish to steal gold from Carallinia. He proved to be a daring adversary for the party, showing his military expertise and actually taking down Alexandroth. He was a natural liar with a dysfunctional crew.

Captain Dana Bonebreaker

Dana Bonebreaker is a pirate that has been at seas for a few years, constantly escaping the law. She has a tendency to try to go after big game ships, like Wallingtosh's. She owns The Capricorn, her prized ship. Though she appeared to be merciless, she surprisingly let the party into her ranks despite at first wishing to kill them.

Backdrops

Locations

The Devestator

Captain Wallingtosh's ship was a stolen Carallinian vessel which he imprisoned the party on. It was the main battleground for this chapter. It was evidently captured by Captain Bonebreaker for the purposes of expanding her power at sea.

Encounters

Escape

Escaping the prison cells. The party attempted at first to use strength checks in order to lift and push open the doors, but they failed. Alexandroth proceeded to taunting a guard into unlocking the cell. The guard, not very wise, wanted to teach him a lesson. It ended up being his downfall as he was killed with an eldritch blast by Alexandroth, taking head trauma. One of his friends came by to check on the commotion, and also died to an eldritch blast, folding in half by the force of the attack.

Battling the Guards

After gathering their equipment from the armories, the party was attacked by the remaining guards. They proceeded to wipe the floor with these poorly trained soldiers. Eventually Captain Wallingtosh came down and proceeded to even the odds. Elana turned one of the soldiers on fire, Brynn got into a fist fight with a bald soldier, Bogun was concerned over his hat, and Wallingtosh got into a two-way duel with Alexandroth and Dovahkiin. Wallingtosh managed to knock down Alexandroth, but Dovahkiin cut off his arm. The fighting evidently ended with Brynn giving a shout.

Confronting Captain Bonebreaker

Eventually the enemy pirates took over the ship and wished to kill everyone on board. However, after some convincing, Captain Bonebreaker took the party as part of her crew in a display of mercy. She also acknowledged their fighting power.
