Boadella

Boadella is a small town in the land of Carallinia, primarily settled by immigrant dwarves from the land of Bolderun. When it was first established in 2A 34, it was used for tabacco plantations and a castle was built for it's lord of the land, a Tallian named Diego Boadella. Evidently, when the Dwarves came to the town they discovered a sprawling cave with solid strips of iron ore and other metals. Thus, the city began to shift into a mining city as Lord Boadella overlooked the city, using his castle to do so.   However, around the year 2A 54 Lord Boadella died. His most trusted advisor, Gontro, ended up taking over the city and revealed his true intentions: he was a necromancer seeking to use the city's resources for his own doing. He replaced the guards with his skeletal minions and now he used Lord Boadella's Castle as a base of operations. He would evidently be slain two years later by a party of adventurers known as the Champions of Maclir.   Two of these champions, Elana and Dovahkiin, would end up returning to the city as a relief effort. Elana would be sainted for initiating the mission there, while Dovahkiin was highly honored in his order of Paladins.

Demographics

Though a small amount of Tallian Humans first came to this island, they were outnumbered quickly by Dwarves who were drawn to using the place as a mining city. The mine is the city's greatest source of income yet the Dwarves are paid little as Lord Gontro takes most of the wealth for himself.   Other than this, other Dwarves and Humans find themselves as farmers working on plantations for their masters as indentured servants. There are few artisans in this village. There is one inn, and very few places for art and the bare minimum of magic stores.

Government

The village was formerly ruled by Lord Gontro, a necromancer who has instilled fear into it's inhabitants. He controled the economic and military enforcement in the village. However, it seems that he had done a poor job, as the city had begun to get poor and has been low on food. In turned out most of his efforts was being used to become a Lich. However, he was disposed of by an adventuring party and the power of the city was turned back to the citizens.

Industry & Trade

For a while, it was the mining industry that helped run this city. Iron ore and saltpeter appear to be their greatest assets. However the city has lost much of it's commerce due to traders beginning to fear the power of Lord Gontro. The village also depends on the growing of tabacco as another good in order to trade for food. Due to the lack of trade, however, some dwarves have resorted to starting their own farms in secret behind the hills of the city.

Geography

The place is largely flat, being open out to sea. The port is surrounded by hills and plains, which prove to only be used for mining and growth of tabacco. In the village part itself, many of the plants around Castle Boadella have died. Palm trees are withered and the grass has gone brown. The white sands of Boadella have turned black, like saltpeter.
