Yet they have the heart of mortal men, thirsty for war and land.The Amazons are a collection of cursed women found in the region of Madeci, hailing from the island of Myrna. Gender: Always female. Size: Around 7-8 Feet. Medium. Age: Amazonians reach maturity around the age of 20, and can live as long as 130 years. Weapon and Armor Training: You are considered proficient in spears, longswords, greatswords, longbows, medium armor and shields. Amazonian Resilience: Amazonians, as an upside to their curse, learned to rejuvenate themselves to keep themselves fighting for as long as possible. Once per short rest, you can use a bonus action to regain 1d4 + your level hit points. Powerful Build: You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. Disciplined: You have advantage on Constitution saving throws.

Basic Information
Anatomy
At first glance, they look a lot like human women from their facial and bodily traits. However, they usually tower over humans, being around 7-8 feet tall at most.
Genetics and Reproduction
Amazons are not exactly a race, more that it is a curse passed onto different women in the lands of Madeci. They become a collective of cursed women and call themselves "Amazons" due to the original population of Myrna calling themselves that. (Even though the Myrnans are technically extinct.) Amazonian mothers often have children with normal men, and always have an Amazonian daughter due to passing along the curse.
When pregnant, it takes an Amazon around 12 months for their children to fully develop in the womb due to the hardier bodies they have over normal humans. To compensate for the fact there are only females in their race, most Amazons produce twins normally. The resulting offspring will always be a girl, no matter what they have tried, due to their curse.
Growth Rate & Stages
After a new Amazon is born, they will find their initial growth period rather fast. By age six they will be about as tall as an adult dwarf! The growing begins to slow when they reach the age of ten, and proceeds to speed up when they become thirteen. They will go through puberty until the age of twenty, where they will be fully developed as a grown Amazon.
Biological Cycle
Strangely, during the spring Amazons find themselves undergoing a shedding of their head hair. During the summer the thinner hair makes it much cooler for them. Then the fall does the opposite, with it getting particularly thick. During the winter it becomes warmer on their head because of how much hair they have grown.

Geographic Origin and Distribution
Most Amazons are found in the region of Madeci, but it isn't uncommon to find them wandering around the rest of the world. Some have been found as far as Lysandus and Boldurun, even the Wallingwish Islands!

Amazons are quite literate in their societies, with a natural boost to intelligence due to their genetic favoring over the years in order to produce some of the best warriors.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
When playing an Amazon, a combination of Greek and Latin is preferable for the name. However, Amazons have been known to take names from their surrounding culture if they no longer live in Madeci.
Beauty Ideals
A strong, muscular human is not going to turn away any eyes to an Amazon. They are rather interested in characters who are assertive, abrasive, and physically healthy. Either that, or they are incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable about all sorts of things. This is one of the reasons Amazons themselves become knights or wizards, since they take those traits from their spouses.
Gender Ideals
Most Amazons find it unruly to view themselves other than a woman. They take pride in their femininity, since it is what they have left of their species ever since the men were slaughtered.
Courtship Ideals
Often times an Amazon will challenge a potential mate to a duel or battle of wits if they are interested in them. An arm wrestle can be given for a "first date" with them, or a simple study session if they're more interested in a wizard or scholar. These will later evolve into actual battles, where they will attempt to harm the person they are courting to see if they can stand their power. If they succeed, the Amazon will know they are ready to be mates.
History
The Amazons are a strange species, as they originally were just humans. However, isolation from the rest of Madeci left them to start pursuing their own interests. With breeding, the humans of Myrna began to grow taller and stronger through magical tampering with their genetics. The men on the island of Myrna began to worship in cults of Morganine, waging war with the other cities in Madeci, and the women followed suit. Eventually, the women became disinterested in the men of Myrna as they started to be converted to worshiping Amagus in their temples. They perceived them as growing weak as they began to pursue philosophy and knowledge.
Thus, the women of Myrna got into a blind stupor and slaughtered every last male on the island in order to gain favor with Morganine. Their mindset was to restart the generation of men when the pregnant women would give birth after the slaughter. All they received was a curse from Amagus:
"May your wombs never carry any males, so your blood may one day never be shed on Talamh again!"The Amazons now knew they were in a tricky situation, and began to fear the disappearance of their people. Lo and behold, the following year the Amazons only had girls and realized the curse was true. Thus the Amazons began turning to Amagus to assist them in the preservation of their race. The original Myrnans unfortunately went extinct, but the next population of women, mixed with the blood of other Madeci, identified themselves as the "Amazons". Therefore, all women afflicted with the curse are amazons. Ever since this event, the Amazons have solely worshiped Amagus on their island. They were revealed magical secrets, with many of them starting to become Battlemages and Paladins in order to preserve the order of Amagus, so that they would not stumble again for their people. A Temple of Amagus is one of the most prominent structures on their island nowadays, especially with the amount of Oracles that are found there.
Order of Oracles
The Oracles are Amazon Divination Mages who find themselves with a very special connection with Amagus. Many of them are able to see into the future through magical ability. These skills have made them a popular with all humanoid species, looking for them to see fortunes or prophesy to make wiser decisions in their lives. The Oracles think they are the closest to removing the curse of their god through service, but nothing has been proven successful yet.Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Amazons rely on humans in order to keep their species alive, therefore often breeding with them to create more Amazons. Besides finding mates, the Amazons do trade with dwarves, elves, and humans for any of the resources they have on the islands. Their fondness for a plant called "brilock" has been their most prized possession, especially for Dwarves, since it has the strange ability to make alcohol far more potent than it usually is.
The Amazons also have a large weapon industry, with some of their blades being considered the best of all of Talamh. They have started to become obsolete, however, with the continual improvement of guns. Amazons will be forced to adapt to modern warfare if they want to stand a chance with this industry.

Conservation Status
Amazons have always had difficulty keeping their population up due to only women being born. However, as of late, it has been more problematic since people in Farawey have been fearing them for their warrior past. Considering the invention of the gun has also been problematic to them, since they prefer use of mystical and martial arts instead.

Average Physique
It is very rare to find an out of shape Amazon, as many are toned or at least keep themselves healthy due to millennia-long traditions. Many Amazon women can actually lift more than twice their weight due to their physique, even the weaker ones.
