Sunnymead

Sunnymead is a small farming village in the southeastern portion of the Kingdom of Baden. Though small in size, it is well-known for the mead produced and distributed throughout the Kingdom.

Elected Mayoral, under the rule of the regional Count.

Defences

A Baden Regular Army unit is garrisoned just three miles north of Sunnymead at Fort Meade, and the town maintains a simple militia.

Infrastructure

• The Paergin Docks, a large pier that extends out into the Emerald Sea to allow the berthing of larger shipping vessels as well as smaller fishing boats. Owned and operated by the Paergin Family, the wealthiest of Sunnymead's families.
• The Sunnymeadery, a meadery located on the northwest side of Sunnymead that produces the region's best meads. Owned and operated by the Meade Family, one of the oldest families in Sunnymead.
• The Foaming Mug Tavern, Sunnymead's finest (and only) drinking establishment since 1515.
• The Sunnymead General Store, a trading post owned and operated by Thael Istello, the only Nuaira in Sunnymead.

The Church of Deiter established a temple in 1522, while a shrine for Shelyayl was established on the shore in 1547.

Architecture

Buildings in Sunnymead are typical of southeastern Badenite construction. Most homes are single-story wood with a stone foundation with a partial attic and low basement. Most homes feature a sod-over-wood roof and some form of rainwater collection, typically barrels or cisterns.

Geography

Sunnymead is located on the western banks of the Emerald Sea in southeastern Baden Valley. Situated at the mouth of the eponymous Sunnymead Creek (alternately known by its Dunmaer name of Set'estisi "Bitter Creek"), the village enjoys a temperate subtropical climate for most of the year, with heavy winter rains. 
Upstream of a small marsh located on the southwest side of the village, the creek offers freshwater spawning habitats for a variety of fish and aquatic life.

Natural Resources

The farms of Sunnymead produce wheat, corn, oats, and similar grains. A small brackish marsh on the southwest side of the town provides habitat for a number of Black Gum Trees, which are used for their timber and honey.
