The sad story bro species exists and dies out. Sad AF. Well not really cos they ate their own kids but still.
A species rises and falls in its solar system because a solar flare destroyed its home planet and the planetary bases it had fell over time to various things.
This species main thing of interest, after them thinking it's okay to eat your own and one another's kids, is that they're the first intelligent species post-Old One to go interplanetary with their settlements.
