Thelren

The town of Thelren in The Fae Commonwealth is renowned for it's spider silk production (see Giant spider silk) . It is in the northwestern portion of the Fae Commonwealth in the great Summercountry valley. The town is north of the main route through the Summercountry. Silk hunters of many races roam the nearby mountains for the rare Golden spider silk and the webbing of other giant spiders. Silk works are the domain of gnomish workers who's Fae talent allows them production speeds and quality unrivaled by other races. Combined with Elvish merchants who wow and dazzle buyers with glamours, the fae dominate the high end silk trade. Much silk is used within the commonwealth, as The Fae races fancy themselves mostly aristocrats or gentry and demand high end fabrics and exotic materials.

Government

The town is the seat of the Wood tribe Thane of the Drya clan, a female troll - Gundhir. Gundhir is sworn to protect and promote her Clan and promote stewardship of the wilds they hold sacred. This is under the Baron Llydon, a Satyr of the Sealie court. The seasonal Pashas (Summer- gnome, f. Autumn -Sluagh, M. Winter- Goblin, F. and Spring gnome, M) and Praetors of the breeds form the council.  Many gnomes dwell here and are engaged in silk trades- production, dying and weaving - making Gnome influence here quite strong.

Defences

The town has no outer physical wall but is protected by Fae magics. The Thane's Reeves and the breed Prefects and Lictors keep order and provide defense if needed. The Marshall of the Sealie knights of the Baron and the Agha Knights of the Seasonal Pashas ( see The Fae Seasonal Houses) maintain defense magics and rally in case of need.

Infrastructure

As a center of the silk trade, roads in and out are well maintained. The strong gnomish influence is neat, orderly and pleasing.  Flower gardens and decoration line streets and front many homes. Warehouses and workshops are scattered over the town.  Hostleries and inns host the traveling merchants that come to buy silk or are agents of the gnome silk works that take goods for export.
