The Fae Seasonal Houses

The fae races are bound to the world by ancient oaths and obligations. They chose to be bound to the cycles and patterns of the world and one manifestation is the Seasonal Houses or Courts. These are more than just affinity or liking of a season. They celebrate the feel of the season and wear it as tokens. They also display and promote the themes.

 
  • House of Spring: The Antler Crown: Desire - hunger, lust, greed - fed or instigated. Love. Ichorous green gossamer.
  • House of Summer: The Emerald Court. Wrath - anger, competition. Pride. Yellow bile and red Passion gossamers.
  • House of Autumn: The Court of Whispers: Fear. Wonder. White Gossamer and blue.
  • House of Winter: The Court of Ashes. Sorrow, guilt & regret. Pleasure. Brown gossamer of melancholy.


Fae of a House gain extra Gossamer of the resonance of their Season. Gossamer is the substance on which Fae magics are built. When a House is ascendant they gain 10% extra gossamer from harvests. Glamours involving the seasonal resonances cost 10% less Gossamer and essence when the Season is ascendant.

Structure

Seasonal Court Sultanates are composed of both Sealie and Unsealie, though only the Seasonal ranks are recognized for the active Season:
Khan - The Overlords lords of each Season with dominion over all of the House everywhere. They represent the Seasonal Houses in the Sealie and Unsealie courts.
Sharif - Princedoms/ kingdoms within the provinces.
Khedive/ Viceroy - 2-3/ kingdom - executive officers.
Vizier - City Bosses.
Bey - Town or district Boss.
Pasha - Village Chief or neighborhood chief. They also organize the revels.
Sudhar - Officers, judges, registrars.
Agha - Knights. Guards and questors. Hunters.
Kadi - squires and minor officers/ clerks).
Sah - commoner

Culture

The Seasonal Houses adopt dress in accord with their aligned season. Greens, yellows, purple and blue in pastel, pale shades of the spring. Flowers and vines. Summer yellow, blue, red and deeper shades. Garlands of grain stalks, jewelry of fruits. Leaves in full green. Insect shell armors.  Autumnal orange, brown , yellow and red. The shed and falling leaves. Fish scales. Winter black, white, brown and grey. Furs and bone armors.
Currency
The Gossamer economy: Mortals experiencing strong emotions each generate mote spirits of Gossamer x strength of emotion. Strong emotions cause condensation of Ether into a mote of Gossamer. 0.1: enjoyable company, play, music, mild fright 0.2: moderate fright/fight, great entertainment, joy/love 0.3: wounding fight/ fright representing major threat or fear magic or severe, exceptional/ excellent food, drink, entertainment. 0.4: severely damaging fight/ fright representing massive threat or panic 0.5: deathly fright/ fight deathly or terror.
  Red ( Sangiune - blood) - Heat, Passion, amourous, happy, Joy, happiness, generousity.
  Yellow (Bilious - bile/ Choler) - Force, motion, vengance, spite, anger & hate. Jealousy, Envy
  Violet also Clear (Ectoplasm /Ghosts) - Memory and reverie.
  Blue ( Phlegm -mucous, watery) - thought, knowledge, Dreams. Thoughtful, learning, purpose, peaceful. Restful. sleepy, cowardice.
  Brown ( Melancholic - Earth) , place, Sentiment and emotionalism, worry, sorrow/ sadness, loss. guilt.anxiety.
  White (Vaporous - breath ) Airy, wind, breath, wonder, love. Devotion.
  Black (Shadow -Poison ) - negative, draining. pain, fear, numbness, distraction.
  Green ( Ichor -Sap, body ) Vitality, plants,& life. Desire & want. Hunger. Senses & sensuality - touch, sight, sound, flavor. Pleasures.
