Brevin's Gap

Brevin walked along the catwalks of the home he had built. This village, his village, stretched in all directions from his house. All around, a tangled web of catwalks and rope bridges that connected the sanctuary to the surrounding cliffs.   It started as a small settlement, built for protection for him and his kin. But more folk came, a stream of refugees seeking asylum from the gods-accursed mist. And what sort of dwarf would turn away folk in need?

Infrastructure

A complex lattice of catwalks and platforms, pulleys and winches comprise this marvelous town. Strategic use of a pseudo-magical wood called soarwood, along with the enhancement of air elemental magic make the engineering of this place possible.

Geography

The village is situated at an intersection of three ravines. Sheer cliffs line the north, southeast, and southwest of the village, and drop nearly 1000 feet to deep ocean water below.

The Gap (district)

Centrally located in the village, The Gap district is named after the trading post located roughly at the center of the town.

Brevin's Gap (store): The founding structure of the village, this trading post serves as the connective tissue of trade and fair productivity that keep this village running.

The Lottery: Located on the same platform as Brevin's Gap, this device is used to select workers for the most necessary, undesirable, and dangerous jobs for the week.

Lorfiril's Escape: Elven winery named after Elvish god of revelry and hedonism

Spire Quarter

Seat of the Seldarine: Temple to the Elvish pantheon.

Forge of Souls: Temple to the Dwarvish pantheon.

Sovereign Host: A dwindling congregation to the Sovereign Host.

Quarry District

The Groundless Stone: A workman's tavern, that boasts a unique fighting pit in the lower level.

Mel's: Dining area near the Northwest edge, overhanging the ravine. Festival fireworks are set off from this location.

Creaky Quarter

The Red Mug: An open tavern and kitchen with an expansive dining area spanning multiple adjacent platforms. Most denizens of the Gap come here to eat and gather.

Norward Gaze: A quiet spot for reflection at the Northeast edge of the city. Plants grown on lattices offer many secluded corners to look north toward the ocean.
