The Dwarves and Giants of Jhanin are defeated by the marauding Kyn hordes of Achaemen. The packs swiftly turn on each other, and the winner becomes the first emperor of Rouran.
The time before the Invasion
The Dwarves and Giants of Jhanin are defeated by the marauding Kyn hordes of Achaemen. The packs swiftly turn on each other, and the winner becomes the first emperor of Rouran.
The world is forever changed as the Invaders darken the skies of Dathenay. Dath is reduced to a waste, the Almazyn are oblitered, alliances are forged, and betrayals that haunt the world are enacted.
Atop the tallest peak in eastern Dathenay, an alliance of Dragons, Kinnara, and rebel Humans fight against the Invaders. Though they are defeated, it comes at significant cost to the Invaders, leading them to divert their forces elsewhere.
The lands of Xiang Feng begin their recovery. Following the Invasion, the lands of Xiang Feng split into roughly 31 city states focused along the two major rivers of the land, 5 of which were actually Kinnara.
Given the ruined, corrupted state of most of the northern lands, the Spring Court allows Rouran and other survivors access to their lands, for a time.
Pincered between Fey, Demons, and Humans, as well as suffering Dwarf and Giant slave uprisings from within, the Kyn empire falls.
The first long winter of Castores. Most civilizations that were cobbling themselves together following the Invasion collapse. The Fey Courts, Xiang Feng, and Xhalandar are largely unaffected, though Bael Archas, Khaz Vedran, and Jhal'Qerzaan all suffer major revolts.
As the crushing cold of Winter finally withdraws, the beleaguered people of Castores finally get a time to rebuild.
Following an invasion from Dath, the people of Xiang Feng become paranoid of Invader technology. The Kinnara, harmed most of all by the dark machines, form a puritan government that unites Xiang Feng for a time.
After almost three centuries of relief, the world began to waste away once again.
As some reprieve after the desolation of summer, a long rainy period breathes life into the world once again.
Though the dreaded colds returned, knowledge of the utility of Kresnite passed down allowed civilization to fare better than before.
The collapse of the Kinnarate results in the race fading into myth and legend. Xiang Feng falls into an era of internal strife.
Having learned of the fickle, cyclical nature of the world, civilization prepares to rebuild once again.
After a successful invasion of the disparate Fengese states, Xhalandar held the country for 42 years before learning the lesson of relying too heavily on a slave army.
Though having 1000 years of warning, summer would not come easy to the world.
After achieving its freedom, Xiang Feng enters a brief age of consolidation and regulation that forms the framework of centuries to come.
The Golden Age of Xiang Feng. A time of great expansion, development and expression. Such growth was not sustainable however, as the land eventually fell into complacency and corruption, and eventually, madness.
An expected reprieve from the harshness of Summer. But not a peaceful one.
The world readied itself for the frigid destruction.
Following the Fengese Golden Age, the Primordial of Madness, Ghadab is summoned, and the land enters a brief, but horrible era of chaos.
Mahjur of the Jhanin Sky Pillar, led by the Kar’Naj Dead-Eye, rebel against the giants. Put down by Varmir Dragonsbane, brother of the king. However he massacres women and children, leading to assignment to the wall.
Following the passionate expansion, exploration, and eventual insanity of the Minkai Dynasty, the Kasai took Xiang Feng in a more puritan, ascetic direction.
Once again, the world is reinvigorated with life.
After the grayness of the Kasai, they were overturned by the Poet's Rebellion. In the power vacuum, four houses rose to prominence. Often romanticized by later generations, it was not just an age of conflict but also of cultural revitalization.
Following a second invasion from Xhalandar, one of the four Fengese Kingdom achieves dominance.
Spring always gives away to Summer. But this Summer would not be one the world would forget.
