Stonesthrow Guard

The Stonesthrow guard was originally established as a typical town guard, the objective being to protect the town as a whole from thieves and unwanted visitors. As the town grew, however, the responsibilities have changed. Now, they are both responsible for the town's safety and also that of the shipments from the Crystal Traders headquarters to other areas throughout the region.

Even more so than the shipments, it is most important that they keep the Trader or Master Trader they are escorting safe. Each one has enough knowledge of the crystal trade in their posession to do serious harm to the guild if it were to be made public, so they are a huge target for bandits, thieves, and pirates of all kinds.

The guard has developed enough over the years since its founding to now support a full rotation both day and night in the town, along with up to six escorts at the same time. They are both armed with swords and other weapons they are trained and comfortable on, as well as dart guns that allow them to capture thieves alive and bring them back to town for questioning. The Crystal Traders take the safety of their Traders and their shipments very seriously and only the best of the guard can ever go on escort duty.

Among Crystaliers, the Stonesthrow guard is one of the most respected positions and they can always be called upon to help a guard in distress. The Crystaliers know all too well that the reason they are able to put food on the table is because these guards are keeping the Trader and their crystals safe on the road and make it to the mages who need them.
