Triffle (TRIFF-uhl)

Closely related to Truvvith   Triffles are mobile plants, approximately 10 cm tall. At the top of their stem is a sphere which splits down the center, and looks like a pair of opposing melon ballers, about 3 cm in diameter. The stem moves surprisingly quickly to grab and hold insects, but they are otherwise docile, and do not even attempt to grab something that is too large for them to close their head around.   Triffles move around on three small legs, and periodically plant themselves to absorb water and nutrients from the soil.   Some triffles have been observed standing still with their stem outstretched and head open, only to close and trap bugs like a Venus flytrap. Such behavior is not universal, but there is some evidence of learning such behaviors from other triffles.   There are at least 6 sexes of triffles, any two of which can mate and produce offspring of any sex.
