Emperor

The title of Emperor is the traditional title of the leader of The Calradian Empire.

Qualifications

The Emperor has, until the beginning of The War of the Three Emperors, been required to be a direct descendant of the last Emperor in the line of the first emperor, Sigvard . However, divisions have arisen in the empire regarding this. Now The Western Calradian Empire, The Eastern Calradian empire, and The Southern Calradian Empire, battle over their beliefs surrounding the manner in which Emperors are chosen.

Appointment

Emperors have traditionally been appointed by their Emperor parent. When an Emperor has multiple children, it is almost unanimously given to the eldest-child. However, some exceptions exist.

Responsibilities

The Emperor is responsible for the safeguarding and the overall governance of the Empire in all of it's parts. Emperors have ultimate power to make decisions that override any other, and are thus entrusted to make quick executive decisions in times of crisis.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Emperors have never been able to be legally replaced or dismissed, however such an ability is one of the cornerstones of the beliefs of the current "emperor" of The Eastern Calradian empire, who are fighting for The Imperial Calradic Senate to have such power in deciding on and being able to dismiss the Emperor.

Source of Authority

The Saints of Order, and the All-Father Godric. In addition, The Imperial Calradic Senate would traditionally approve the ascension of the new Emperor, as approval from the people.
