Victoria Carter: Personal History

Occupation

Victoria's bread-and-butter occupation is that of a peripatetic music teacher working at both primary and secondary schools around the county.

Outside the sphere of teaching, she performs publicly and often professionally in a variety of settings from dreadful amateur operatics to prestigious weddings at Clifton Cathedral. Victoria, of course, given her avowed status as a non-believer, is never going to be at the top of anyone's list of go-to church organists but such is her reputation as a performer and her non-judgemental attitude towards what she is asked to play (except, perhaps, in well considered technical matters of musicality) that she does land a surprising amount of work in that area.

Education

School

Red Maids' School, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol

This is where Victoria met Jennifer. Although both would quickly develop an abhorrence of the privilege, elitism and inequity of private education, Red Maids' did not leave Victoria with the same personal sense of trauma that it inflicted upon her future wife.

Further/Higher Education

Victoria attended a generally undefined college in Bath where she studied music before enrolling at the University of Bristol to complete her studies, ultimately attaining an MA in music as well as her teaching qualifications.
