Sterling Eadon Langstaff
Sterling Eadon Langstaff is a young mage and part of a well known trade family in his home town of Carhyrst. Thanks to his upbringing in a liberal family and his position as second son of the Sterling family, who does not need to continue the family business, he was able to successfully complete his studies to become a wizard. His powers manifested at the young age of ten years, when he saved his sister Celia, who is two years younger, from having an accident on the docks. The siblings went along with their father often and were a common sight for the dock workers and knew their way around the crates and barrels and ships and merchants.
One day though certain calamity was narrowly avoided: a pile of crates began to fall off of a crane. Sterling saw his sister threatened by the falling crates, yelled her name and pushed her out of the danger zone with a magical shove from several feet away. Sterling's arcane talent had manifested and the young boy was bound to attend the local wizards academy when he would reach the age of twelve.
When the day came Sterling's parents could not have been prouder and supported Sterling however they could. Since Sterling's brother Henry has no magical abilities and is two years older, he is meant to one day run the family business. Thus, Sterling could fully concentrate on becoming a wizard.
Next to his studies at the mage academy, where Sterling could pursue his love for sunken cultures and old scriptures, he worked as an accountant in his familiy’s business. But recently Sterling has renounced that lifestyle and is now searching for adventure in the world. Sterling is open-minded, polite and unprejudiced. He knows that you need to work hard to accomplish something in life and does not take his talent for granted. If he scents the track of a sunken culture though or if he discovers a lost tome in a local library, his boundless enthusiasm knows no bounds.
