Badb (Bive)

Mother of Stars

Rejected daughter of Danu, Badb was her first-born and most ambitious of the lot. Her ambition to create her own light put her at odds with her mother from the beginning of her existence, though not before Danu used her for her many talents. When her second daughter was born, Badb became furious with jealousy, as Danu bestowed upon Morrigan all her love and devotion. Determined to win her favour back, Badb created her own source of light in the early beginnings of the world, and for a time the world was illuminated by two suns. Outraged, and perceiving her creation as a challenge, Danu smote Badb's sun and destroyed it into millions of pieces, forming the rest of the known stars that are not part of the major constellations. Though they shine less bright than their godly counterparts, it is told that each one represents a small plane all on its own, waiting to be taken.
Danu's wrath turned to fury as she outcast her firstborn. Badb travelled the Aetherium, broken and exiled from her once mighty home, eventually settling on the largest piece of her fragmented sun. There she dwelt, eventually growing accustomed to the darkness, for each of her stars shone far less compared to Sanctum. Nevertheless, Badb remained ambitious, eventually gathering other minor deities who were spurned in their own right to her side. Badb lays claim to all of her fragmented pieces within the Aurbis, and much of the Celestial Host is devoted to stopping her.
