Gypsie dance

The Gypsies have Dancers who are very well know in europe. Every theather wants them to perform and they are always welcome.

Their dancing is an artform and very complex. For most people is an expessionist way, but to some it is more then just a dance. They have excellent musicians, Django Reinhard is presumably one of the most well known. The speed and tempo changes dramatically between each song and during the dance the mesmerising bright colored clothes and flamboyant movements are a sight to behold.

secrets

What is not so well known is the body language they use to convey secret messages. They travel from location to location and their messages are only for a few to understand. The messages are stories and riddles, as the reader gets the dance and its intrinsic message delivered. The secrets are a language almost forgotten and only understandable by dancers. The mother eldest are always former dancers and very keen on reading the message. There are also male dancers that participate in the dance, and they have the same instruments and body language available.

Messages

The phrases are messages about outher gypsie families roaming the country and about events in the world. Kings die, new ones rise... all these things are hidden in the messages. Through dance and motion they can convey complex messages in one dance. They also deliver messages of dreams and other esotheric thoughts that elders want to convey. Certain dances are teached only with the purpose of keeping the history of gypsies alive.

Geographical Distribution

Gypsies are the only ones that have dancers that understand the dance and the message.

Phonology

There are some sounds like stamping and shouts. They are rare and emphasize the importance. the moments of shouting and stamping also have meaning.

Syntax

Left turns and right turns mean opposites. stamping and swirling to change the direction of the message, clicking hand castanetes to change the meaning of the message and dance. Every hand position is meaningfull. The facial expression may not change except for the lips opening slightly to show teeth. This is also necessary t enable a dancer to breath. The dance is an extreme and heavy exercise in breathing technology and gypsies have mastered that into an form of art. Every dancer needs a lot of guidance and training to perform the dances without falling short of breath. heavy breathing also distorts the message.

Phonetics

The music and castanetes perform a baseline in sounds, the foot stamping and short brief moments of shouting are important parts in the message.
