Bower Castle

The capital of Claid Shinor, Bower Castle is the base of operations for the Monarch, and the center of power in the country. An sprawling citadel constructed of hard, grit stone, the castle covers a large area and is surrounded by hundreds of smaller buildings that support and supply the castle every day.

Government

The king is the law here, and all citizens are subject to his whim and rule.

Defences

Surrounded by three rings of walls, attackers will have a hard time reaching the castle itself before even having to contend with the vast multitude of towers tat host anything from siege weaponry to arcane artillery.

Industry & Trade

Most people in Bower Castle are concerned with either running the kingdom, or keeping the castle clean, tidy, maintained, and well fed.

Architecture

The castle and surrounding walls are built of hardy, grit stone, designed to take the brunt of physical attacks. Many of the buildings within the walls are either mostly or entirely wooden, to allow for rapid demolition or expansion if needed.

Geography

The central keep sits atop a large drumlin hill, set apart from any other buildings to lower fire risks and allow defenders atop it a superior view of the surroundings. The rest of the castle spreads out down the shallow slope of the hill towards the River Tyfe, snuggling defensively in a large meandering bend.
