Session 16: The Split Report
General Summary
With trains running in opposing directions in Steelwater Flats, the Chapter of Gold split up.
Asra, Sy, and Caitlin took the Orven Central Railway with their old friend Aesha, first stopping in Ironhead Station. In the underground city, the traveled to a local tavern where Sy learned of a mystery with the Nyss in Orven and Caitlin met with Ragnor Skysplitter. The Trollkin Warlock focused on Caitlin 's bond with her pet dragon, Kevin-pushing her to unleash his fury.
Traveling next to Orven, the four followed a lead to Fort Whiterock. Unfortunately, the icy tower ruin had become an infernal home from Sy's childhood friend Lyssa Hallith, whom had transformed into a soulstalker through a demonic pact.
Meanwhile, Deacon Glaas, Bartok, and Thale traveled with Orwick Gove to Fharin to investigate the nature of infernal pacts. While riding on the Cygnaran Express they met with Finch Sunbright, learning the details of The Enlightened Raiders plan to defeat Shanta.
Upon reaching Fharin, they discovered a dark and twisted town. Heading to the old manor of Lord Runewood, they uncovered an inferal plot and a demonic rift connecting to Fort Whiterock. Battling with an infernal monster and Runewood himself, they saw the horrid fate of Asra through the portal. As her soul was ripped from her body and Thale collapsed from necrotic poisoning, Thale reached out to his patron: The Curator.
Eager to protect his investments and deter competition, The Curator reattached Asra's scarred soul and dealt with Runewood. Frustrated by the Chapter of Gold's slow progress, he demanded they return to their quest to delve into the mysterious Tomb of Lost Souls.
Always eager to increase his infernal power, The Curator signed three new infernal pacts, and now he has claim to the souls of Aesha, Bartok, and Orwick Gove.
