Book 2: Beasts of Burden
To the awe of the world, Everblight has returned. The Dragon once responsible for enslaving the Nyss and raining terror on the world, was thought to have been killed in Ios. According to the journal of Kali the Seeker, a shard of Everblight's soul was chipped that day, the fragment soaking up the death of the elves. Through a baptism in blood, a new dragon was born, a dragon twisted by the forest's death.
When the Chapter of Gold began rebuilding a factory in the forests sacred to the Iosan and Nyss, a draconic woman, Shanta, made herself known. Like any dragon, she hungers. She hungers for the boken fragments of dead gods and young dragons.
With the fate of Ios hanging in the balance, the growing strenght of Everblight, and the mysterious ramblings of Alcyr Hakkyth hope is growing short. Now a dark figure, known only as The Curator, has intruded on the tale, and when it comes to collecting souls, he does not encourage competition.
With the Orb of Scyrah growing colder every day, will the Chapter of Gold be able to stop Shanta in time?
