Session 12: The Shadow of Sancteum

General Summary

Taking a lead from Klokhor Fortress, the party traveled to Caspia in search of knowledge which might help them in their quests. Following the advice of a soul-devouring witch book, who seems to be fattening up Deacon to eat him, you braved into Sul. In which, you discovered a secret tunnel leading into one of the most secure places on earth. With caution you paced into the darkness, crossing several terrors on the way. 

Upon reaching the Sancteum, you were greeted by The Curator. Asra, knowing that she had just met an infernal of great power, took a very skeptical and cautious approach. Deacon, on the other hand, tried to make jokes and got banished to an eternal hell maze. Regardless, one by one, you all sealed an infernal pact, agreeing to his terms. Now you each carry infernal bargains, which left uncompleted will result in being tracked down by Soul Stalkers and having your souls devoured. 

Your deals are as follows:
  • Deacon received a, and I quote, "a book, my book is horny for" in return for a year of service to The Curator. 
  • Sy agreed to make something more precious than they can imagine, in return, The Curator returned Brys Menellyth to life.
  • Asra made 2 deals. Each a lead on how to save her people. 1: direction on how to cure the souless problem in Ios. 2: direction on how to restore her people from the Eldritch curse. In return, she offered her name and an agreement to destroy the shrine of Scyrah after killing Shanta. 
  • Caitlin asked for the power to restore her tribe. In return, she agreed to plant a single black seed, of which Kevin is terrified, at the center of her tribe's power. 


That evening, you received directions on your first job for The Curator. You were to travel to the Tomb of Lost Souls and retrieve an artifact that will help save the Iosan people. You decided that could wait. Instead, you identified the magic items stolen from the pirates. Discovering they were valuable, but cursed, you schemed. 

During a week of rest in Caspia you did several things. Deacon Glaas committed dark blood rituals, and gained a new power from his book. Sy met with Marv the traveling potion dealer, and learned of Frost Drakes outside of Rainsmarket (near Corvis). Their skulls just might make something wonderful to burn.

Caitlin and Asra...well. They tricked a sweet priest into joining you all to exorcise the pirates and lift the curse. They convinced her she accidentally hurt a poor blind girl, then used her guilt to bring her into the darkest parts of the world to do you a "large favor" (in which she has almost already died). 

 You now rest at an inn in Sul and prepare to summon Ghost Pirates in the hope of lifting their curses. Not to help them, but you know, get them curses off our loot.
