SoS: Mainly on the Playnes

General Summary

Only two weeks after being carted away as newly purchased chattel, our heroes returned to Otway to see what help they could muster for the dying/drying town of Sentynel. Meeting with various shop owners (Haul & Harness ferriers, Scouring Cauldron alchemists, Walget Superstore for general provisions, and staying at the Prowling Raven tavern), they eventually made their way to the central square or the 'Red Quarter" for the blood spilled by various coups. At the guard station in the Red Quarter, our heroes tried their best to coax an award out of the Ermine dispatcher. After slinging the severed Thri-kreen head around, they were able to garner a modest 50 gold reward. The also found a small magic shop where they acquired a spell stone and traded in a number of their loose items. Throughout their two day sojourn, Roland's name was constantly questioned and inquired on.   Unable to find a Decanter of Endless Water, Aesyn suggested filling their flatbox with saltwater, purifying it, and taking it to Sentynel. Once submerging their strange Bag-of-Holding-like box into Heaven's Bay and fishing it out, they started out of town back up the Withering Road. Before they could exit the Outer Wards, a group of elves armored in green and gold seized them. This impromptu escort found them in the Chateau of the Playnes, an exquisite and heavily fortified mansion on the outskirts of Otway. This palace displayed unequaled opulence of velvet carpets and jeweled chandeliers. There, they were met to Hierarch of House Playnes, Denetor who waited for them causally on his golden throne. The hierarch struck a deal with Roland, whom the party learned was sold into slavery by Denator. Roland was to recover the starfall blade Durendal and then Denator would be willing to negotiate. Aesyn also implored about the scepter Denator held which ensconced a unicorn's horn. Within the thirty minutes of explanation Denetor spouted it became clear this horn was that of the unicorn Chenval. Tasked with a mission, Roland explained what happened to the sword he was tasked to retrieve...
