Blood Magic

All organic creatures of the multiverse share a defined feature: blood. This sanguine material not only pipes vital resources throughout the body but is imbued with the very essence of being. Blood denotes ancestry, creed, power, passion, honor, and the soul itself. It seals important contracts and staves off death.   Blood is also a powerful font of power for the arcane. When a person swears a blood oath, mixes their blood with another, or even stamps a document with a finger prick, blood magic is there. Blood can improve or empower enchantments linking the essence of an individual to an object. Tapping into such power can be long lasting, forever imprinting an echo into the immediate area. Blood magics are most often associated with fiends whom mortals swear vows to. These 'Faustian bargains' empower fiendish magics and grant them conditional ability. But this idea extends to all who are 'planetouched'; a vow on blood creates a powerful, living magic.   Marks of its touch leave ghostly imprints on Cabochon's history. Blood magic claims a role in staving off Providence, the ordained rise and fall of certain peoples of the world. Myths of pale immortals feeding off the blood of others to regain life permeate Cabochoni folklore. The ozwok that inhabit old ruins of the Ari claim to be their direct descendants. If the totality of Providence induced infertility is true, blood magic is no doubt responsible for their current form.
