Collin was the fourth son of a Cambrian noble and the esquire of Sir Amlyn. Initially a squire, after discovering Amlyn was a descendant of Sir Amlodd of Appleton Thorn, the man who saved his grandfather in the Battle of Carlion, he pledged himself to Amlyn as his esquire.
In 484, he received a large scar across his face that Merlin the Magician had prophesied would happen to Sir Amlyn. He chose to be executed alongside his knight in 492.
