Steampower, clockwork, geothermal, wind, solar and crystals power the world. Inventors are the biggest celebrities, and invention firms are everywhere, competing with each other for contracts. Inventions big and small are in high demand, and everyone wants things that improve their lives. The police of the world are over-burdened from spiking crime, a lack of people willing to join the force, and lack of funding from high-level corruption. As such, they lack skilled and effective detectives, needing more police in other departments to manage things, so they outsource detective work to detective agencies that prove themselves worthy of being deputized. Some detective agencies even gain high enough reputation to recieve deputy status in other countries and are able to operate internationally.
The World is made up of 4 major nations, Asuldan, Brelimond, Kaendacan and Ocudus. Ocudus is the nation of Undead, Kaendacan is the nation of Fey, Brelimond is the nation of Humans and Asuldan is the nation of unity between all three factions.
In
Namlodahr, capital city of Asuldan, a former high profile police officer makes waves by leaving the force and starting her own detective agency. Now, 5 years later, she's hired some new detectives to be in her Eagle Eye Detective Agency and help her solve the cold case that made her leave the force, but only after she knows she can trust them!
