Preparing for the Festival

It's mid Fall in The Village of Wreath and Harvest Festival is around the corner. Things have become more complicated with recent Realm Tides disrupting life and work in Wreath, last time it was a flock of Faerie Dragons that came in, occupied the town for a few days, and promptly vanished. Thanks to an item called a Realm Dial, located in the Town Square, there was some warning this time, and the people were safe. However, no one knows if that will be the case the next time, and the town sent requests for help, but they're far from the rest of their neighbors, and travel is dangerous. Two travelers have answered the summons and arrived to the edge of town and observe a dwarf in Halfplate speaking to a Human female in colorful robes. (Torst Quakestone & Kira).

Plot points/Scenes

Before we start, Kira, Jayr, and Bertholt, please add "Request for Aid" to your inventory list. It offers 50 gold to individuals for help in defending the Village

1. Torst Quakestone receives Jayr, Berthold, and Kira at the bridge to the south of Wreath. "I'm glad to see someone got the offer."   Talk about meeting the Mayor in the town square, walking and talking till they get there

2. Arrive at the town square, they see the Mayor, Tom and his family (Edith (wife), Galen (youngest son), Callindy, and Perryrill, as well as a little rat on her shoulder. Sister Meredith looks unwell, it appears to be of supernatural origin, Stanley is tending to her. 2a. Talk about the preparations for the upcoming festival, the last Realm Tide, and the fact that one might be coming soon and she hasn't been able to sanctify the Graveyard.

3. At this point, have the Realm Dial emit a quiet bell noise (DC 15 Perception), on success, prompt a character to look towards it Then louder. Finally, full on church ringing and the Symbol of the Shadowfell on it's white pearlescent surface.   Wendigo Encounter: House - bodies discovered, child recovered - infant Klara.

Preparations for the Festival/Time to Investigate

THEY ARE NOW IN FRONT OF THE CORWYN FARM Brief talk with Mayor Gabriel Woodsworth "I've only just arrived back with Sister Meredith and I'm greeted by the farmers daughter and friends and... a child... tell me, what has happened now?"   Mayor Gabriel Woodsworth received them, baby in hand, at the porch.   1. Ask what happened - tell the story of Wendigos being usually found nearer the mountains and in Golíatlendir(Territory) territory, though they have appeared elsewhere in the past.

2. Introduce the fact that he has returned with Sister Meredith a woman beginning the steps to her sunset years, though she is somewhat ill, and instead, has sent her personal ward (ask Sean to describe himself), Introduce the 2 remaining characters, Kallindy @ Jayr.

3. Ask if they found anything else, and have any idea who can take care of Klara, at which point Edith Corwyn suggests taking her in, Galen is excited to have a little sister, Tom is a bit reticent at first and may need to be persuaded, if not, then Sister Meredith takes her in with any other orphans in Wreath at the Cathedral.

4. Suggest talking to Sister Meredith in the morning if they need more information on w/e

...

5. End the conversation with details about Setting up for the Festival.

5a. The Great Bonfire needs Spiritwood, grown in the forest by trees that produce a sap that contains amplified natural energy. A Small ritual is needed to harvest it safely, otherwise... the forest reacts negatively. (A blessed axe, a new sapling for any trees felled, and watered with holy water and planted with bonemeal from a woodland creature. A successful Insight/Persuasion check reveals that an additional offering of blood can make the tree grow faster, in accordance with the old ways. Though one persons blood can be used for a tree for a whole lifetime.) 5b. Hunting game for the festival is also a necessary task for the preparations. 5c. Preparing the stalls and games.

Axe Throwing Contest (Jace Maverick [talking about the fierce winds sometimes coming from the Eastern Forest, not the mountain, which is normal. Pressing him reveals he thought he heard the wind howling but he's certain it was something else)

Shell game (Cade Benton [will talk about him seeing a Bear Flee the woods and try to persuade them he's not lying),

Best Pig Contest (one of the pigs is suspiciously larger than the rest, owned by Benjamin Greendale, he took his pig to the forest one day looking for truffles but found magic mushrooms secreting a strange ooze that made it bigger),

Best Pie Contest (gossip - Cade Benton has been working long hours at the mill making him sleep deprived [about his credibility earlier]),

Magic Contest (it is what it is), Singing Contest (They get to vote), Best Whiskey (More Gossip [relating to the previous), Fenced Area for Livestock Trading (They're talking of Dead cow, a *big* chunk is missing).

Also, just in time for a courier from the capital with a 9th level forbiddance spell scroll and a Greater Restoration spellscroll for Sister Meredith. During this time, they must fight 1 Amalgamated undead and a handful of zombies (Zombie Ogre Stats)
