The Póap River1 is the longest river in the Southlands, the southernmost continent of Borgalor, and one of the world's longest ones in general. It originates under a vast glacier not far east of the south pole, whence it meanders throughout eastern and southeastern parts of the continent until emptying into the Þemzó Sea, though the amount of water that reaches the sea fluctuates due to the extreme temperatures of the southlandic hinterlands.
The river and the landscape it has created are sacred to many native troll communities, particularly the Ma Hlo', as parts of the Póap basin are both good hunting grounds as well as grazelands for semi-domesticated animals, while at the same time, crossing the river can be dangerous due to the risk of sudden flooding.
Póap River's unpredictable nature and importance to the trolls have halted any significant exploration and settlement by foreigners in the region.
