Þiðic1 is the language of the Þiðans, an elven ethnic group originally from Þ'iþí in westernmost Jælondis but is now primarily spoken in Þidírar, an autonomous region in eastern New Þamta in the eastern Southlands. Once part of a larger language family, afoðic in northern Jútrilía, þiðic is now an isolate with several different dialects, though some of these have become obscure since the migration to the Southlands.
Þiðic notably lacks many of the sounds found in other elven languages, including all lateral consonants and sibilants, while simultaneously featuring rare ones such as ejective consonants.

Writing System
Like þamtic, the þiðic language is written with an abugida, where consonants are depicted as letters and vowels as smaller markings. The modern writing system dates back to the late 80's BF after Þ'iþí became a republic to better reflect the pronunciation of the common people rather than the royal family, such as /fv/ becoming /β/, and replacing archaic elements such as the consonant clusters /fð/ and /θɥ/ with modern /fʼ/ and /θʼ/, respectively. More recently, the distinction between long and short wovels has been abolished, and the use of the letter Í /i/ has been disputed as well.

Surnames are rare among the þiðans, instead each person is traditionally named after the place they were born, usually settlement or general region, with each new location they move to later on added as well. For example, Vafve Nogðófei ó Þójafei was born in Nogðó and now lives in Þóla.
