Mutagenic Compounds

Compounds use to mutate and/or genetically manipulate living things, allowing for the creation of bioengineered plants and animals.

Properties

Life & Expiration

When mutagenic compounds were initially developed, they had a very short expiration period. The low quantities developed lasted no more than two or three days. However, as research progressed, techniques were developed that allowed unprotected material to last several weeks. Concurrently, external preservation techniques were developed.

Distribution

Storage

The final means of storage developed for mutagenic compounds was a cryogenic canister with a self-replenishing coolant loop utilizing multiple fail-safe mechanisms. Due to the volatility of the compounds, it was deemed the safest means of storage. In order to make the coolant system self-replenishing, the canisters are never able to store more than roughly a liter of material.
