First World War

The First World War of the Second Age was the first global conflict involving a significant percentage of the nations and armies of that age. During the course of the war, military technology advanced greatly.
The war started after the colonial expansionism of the Republic of Maristas, Yulonototh, and the Confederacy of North Fellenas, three of the most powerful nations in the world, resulted in Yulonototh and Maristas arguing over Bellonland, a land rich in natural resources. The Confederacy swept in with a military force staged at their colony on Vishiland and took the land from both of them with minimal loss on all sides. This started a period of tense negotiations, lasting nearly three years. During this time each of the three nations continued their conquest of "uncivilized" lands, often covertly sabotaging one another. Talks broke down when Maristas, with the help of Barimanaria, overtly attacked a small military outpost in Bellonland, then held by the Confederacy.
Prior to the attack on the Bellonland outpost, Maristas and Yulonototh had begun secret talks outside of the talks that included the Confederacy. Along with Barimanaria they decided it was in their collective best interests to keep the Confederacy out of Mis̀tapidna and, if possible, Mishtz̀azey.
