The History of Bifrost Galactic System so far
The planet Niflheim, now barren and lifeless, it's massive structures reduced to crumbling ruins by planetary bombardment, held the Lucercian Combine. During the Rift Wars, the New Terran Coalition took on the Collective and effectively eradicated the entire species from the Galaxy. Their planet still stands in ruins, a testament to the bloody nature of the war.
The Blasted Earth system was the site of a the starting salvo of the Rift Wars early in the colonization of the galaxy. The Lucercian Combine used atmospheric bombardment to destroy the functional environment and terraformation of the planets in this system, killing approximately 3.2tn people. The NTNP was created in response.
Current Species & Cultures
The New Terran Naval Protectorate (NTNP) formed at the onset of the Rift Wars to protect human settlements throughout Bifrost. Breaking off from the NTNP, the evironmentalist factions of the New Eden Collective took over the Garden Subsector, the OSA formed in the Outer Systems, and NSS broke off to protect corporate interests.
Other races include the Ymir, of the Ymir Network, and the Allurians and Uliarites of the Ulian Domin.
Needs & Relations
The human worlds continue to build ever larger and grander at the cost of many human lives. The Ulian Domin seems focused around some sort of hive mind. The Ymir have a vague emotional drive to help humans grow and move beyond their baser instincts.
