Bifrost Galactic System

Time is a precious resource.   The advent of HFTL drives and Nodular Relays allowed humanity to spread across the stars. Colonize entire galaxies. Capital ships of the Terran Navy could carry a colony ship from the Milky Way to Andromeda in three months. The travel from Earth to Bifrost took quite a bit longer... the weeks turned to months, the months turned to years before TNS Espirit arrived in what we now know as the Ashkelon Sector. Everything from there is history.   We grew and grew, but even as our borders stretch wider and wider, our insides collapsed. We lived months apart by ship, with no means to communicate in the present time. You write an email to your cousin on Tor, and nothing comes back for a year. Its like the Pony Express from the old mining stories back home. And what can we really do about it? We have no choice but to adapt.   Time waits for no one in space.
